How do I run a set up program

Generally, one enters the BIOS Setup screen by pressing either F2 or Del. There is usually a message on the bottom of the first boot screen that indicates what button is correct for that model.

Looking further into the details that you have given, it seems that your CMOS battery has died, so you will need to replace that. (This is what is causing the "Time of Day Not Set" message most likely.) You can get the appropriate battery at Radio Shack (if nowhere else) for about $5 or $6.

Reset bios

Installing a fresh operating system is a good option, and there might be a feature in the BIOS to restore the system to factory defaults. Information on how to do this:

Windows XP: Dell PC Restore

Using PC Restore:

1. Turn on the computer.

During the boot process, a blue bar with www.dell.com appears at the top
of the screen.

2. Immediately upon seeing the blue bar, press <Ctrl><F11>.
If you do not press <Ctrl><F11> in time, let the computer finish
starting, and then restart the computer again.

NOTICE: If you do not want to proceed with PC Restore, click Reboot.

3. Click Restore and click Confirm.
The restore process takes approximately 6 to 10 minutes to complete.

4. When prompted, click Finish to reboot the computer.

NOTE: Do not manually shut down the computer. Click Finish and let the computer
completely reboot.

5. When prompted, click Yes.

The computer restarts.

Because the computer is restored to its original
operating state, the screens that appear, such as the End User License
Agreement, are the same ones that appeared the first time the computer
was turned on.

6. Click Next.
The System Restore screen appears and the computer restarts.

7. After the computer restarts, click OK.

I power upmy dell pc and it startes up then I get a screen that says:DELL DXP051 Series BIOS REVISION A00 KEYBOARD FAILURE Then it goes to a black screen and does nothing. If possible can can you tell...

when you see the error hit f1 and see if your computer resumes bootup. if it doesnt then if you have a usb keyboard try a different one and if you have a ps/2 keyboard then try a ps/2 to usb adapter. if the adapter works then you have a pin issue on your ps/2 connector and just continue to use your adapter.
