Please check your audio driver. If your audio driver missing, download and install it here : http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/SOUND-CARD/REALTEK/Toshiba-Satellite-A215-S7472-Realtek-Audio-Driver-6-0-1-5433-Logo.shtml
Just go to this page, you should be able to see the drivers you need...by searching for the exact model you want. If you had put the Exact name of your laptop there (and not just Toshiba), I would have given you the direct link, but at the same time, its very easy when you get to this page, you just search for any Toshiba Driver you want. Hope It helps. Goodluck! The link is: http://www.laptopdrivers.net/toshiba-satellite-a200-laptop-download-vista-to-windows-xp-drivers/
Kindly check your sound settings first. It must no be on mute. Check also the physical knob for the volume control. If you have an earphone to try, then it might help to determine if there is no problem with the speakers. Also you need to try windows media player, cause it might be the settings on the software that you are currently using. If you are not sure for the correct driver for the sound card, you can find it it the Recovery CD of this notebook. (TOSHIBA RECOVERY DISK, DRIVERS and APPLICATION). The most appropriate sound card driver is in that disk. If still unresolved, try running PC Diagnostics for the speakers and sound card. The sound card might be defective as a last option.
Hi, You need a windows XP sound driver for your sound card. If you know your sound card's name go to
www.toshiba.com and look for your country support then Service and Support choose the laptop you have and download the driver for your sound card or if you couldn't find it email the and get the drivers from them.
or go to:
www.google.com and search for "download driver your sound card's name"
and install it.
Or if you don't know the name of your sound card follow the steps below:
Control Panel >> System >> Hardware >> Device Manager
Look for yellow signed "Other Device" >> see if mentions your sound card's name.
if not then you need to see your laptop's manual.
