Question about HP OfficeJet 7310 All-In-One InkJet Printer

2 Answers

Printer cable I have been given an HP all-in-one printer which doesn't have a power cable with it. It was a straight "body swap" and the company which supplied it don't want the original back, even though it was working perfectly. I have a universal adaptor which has a connection that should fit, but want to know if I can safely use it, as it is primarily intended for smaller electrical items such as cameras, toys, phones etc. The box indicates it is suitable for up to 500mA, but not knowing anything about electrical ratings, I don't know if it is okay to use, or about the voltage - the back of the printer seems to indicate 31V, but the adaptor gives a choice of switching up to 12V. Could I use this adaptor with or without a surge protector?

Thanks, Ginko. Don't know if it is worth buying a lead when the printer isn't under any sort of guarantee (and once I've added postage from the US to Scotland it becomes quite pricey). I thought I was doing my bit to save the planet by "recycling" it, but it will probably be destined for the rubbish tip now. A pity my adaptor can't be used, but I had the feeling it would probably not be the correct voltage.

If you use an universal power adapter, you must use one that can provide voltage of at least 30V (25V will work, but better using proper one).

Your 12V adaptor is not enough to power this printer. Buy the proper 31V power adapter.

The replacement costs $12 on Ebay (click).

Or $16 from retailer.

Hi how can i buy power cable for f 380 printer

I've had a quick look at the HP website:-

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?cc=uk&lc=en&dlc=en&product=1128296

and this printer appears to have an AC adaptor, vice straight forward power cable. Your best bets are:-

1) Ebay.
2) PC shop.
3) Contact HP via the website.

If you have a digital phone service like Vonage or your ISP is a cable company that offers phone service, then you're digital as well, and your fax machine has an analog modem, the two devices will not work unless the phone company puts a filter on that will simulate the analog signal and allow the fax to oeprate normally. Call them and ask them to please initiate the digital filter for your line. I wish HP would come out with a digital modem so the problem can be solved for us $800 all in one customers can use our fax machines again. HP's image is getting worse and worse with lack of solutions, and high dollar fixes they leave up to the customer. A modem swap out should be given to the customers who bought this item and was not told the modem was analog. HP won't do it, they only see $ signs these days.

Check the cartridges first

Try doing this

Network Connection (LAN) for HP 650C

Plug it directly into the router and set the printer up on your Win2k/Xp as a network printer via the new printer wizard. The router will allow it to pull an IP number and you will find it on the network that way. It does not have USB because it was meant as an office printer and the option was network adaptor when purchased. If you look at the card in it, you can see it can be swapped out for another adaptor.
