You have emptied the waste toner bottle, now you have to tell the printer that you have done so. The waste toner collection system has a "latch" (electrical signal) that is tripped when the bottle is full. it may be a pressure sensitive switch under the bottle or a photo-sensor that senses the toner level when full. I don't know the sequence of events to "switch" that latch. Usually on the larger machines it is a series of keystrokes on the printer's keypad, starting with turning the machine off and holding down a series of keys while turning the machine on (known as the "maintenance mode". Once you are in the maintenance mode, you can "trip" that "latch" to let the copier know that the toner collection bottle has been emptied.
Are you using manufactures toner, my guess are it is after market toner or not seated correctly, or the toner cartridge has a busted gear, either way.. try a different toner cartridge. 7000 error indicates the toner motor cant turn. the 0165540 is the page counter;
Toner motor lock error A motor over-current signal is detected continuously for 5 seconds since the toner motor is activated
You have change the toner save mode first, in the printing window you have a properties options in that you change the mode of printing, if you turn off the toner saver mode in the properties option you can print the documents in normal, dark printing formats. Thank you.
The LJ 4100 detects the paper size in tray 2 automatically. If you print a configuration page:
MENU them INFORMATION then ITEM then CONFIGURATION PAGE then SELECT.
The page will print and show what size paper the machine thinks is in Tray 2 if it says LEGAL and you have LETTER you need to check the paper back stop in tray 2.
The back stop sets the length of the paper if it is not at Letter (8 1/2 x 11) the machine will not detect LETTER. Even if it just a little bit off or between positions.
If it is set at LETTER then you may have bad switches in the machine that are operated by the tray.
Or the arms on the tray that operate the switches are not moving properly.
You will find the arms on the rt, side of the tray and feel them change position when you move the backstop.
Hope this helps.
Using the Toner Save Mode The Toner Save mode allows the printer to use less toner on each page. Selecting this option will extend the life of your toner cartridge and reduce your cost per page, but will reduce print quality. There are two ways to enable the Toner Save mode: From the Control Panel Press the Cancel button on the control panel. The printer must be in Ready mode (On Line/Error green LED is on). • If the Toner Save LED is on, the mode is enabled and the printer uses less toner to print a page. • If the Toner Save LED is off, the mode is disabled and the printer prints in the normal mode. From the Printer Properties You can also enable the Toner Save mode in the Graphic tab of the printer properties. For details, see Software User’s Guide.
check the hopper motor of the machine. the motor near behind the toner. check if it turns. open the front cover. check the cover for switch activation. activate the switch and make a copy if the toner bottle turns the hopper motor is ok.
