How do install my web cam

Dear first, make sure you follow the instructions from your camera manufacturer to ensure the proper installation of your camera.

This involves inserting the camera installation CD, being guided through a few steps for installation, and restarting your computer. Plugging in the camera's USB cord at the incorrect time during the camera software installation procedure can cause various problems.

To reinstall your webcam:

Uninstall any existing camera installations. Click "Start," "Settings," "Control Panel," and "Add/Remove Programs." From the list, choose your webcam software and click Remove.

Unplug the camera's USB cord from the computer.

Reboot your computer.

Insert your camera's setup/installation CD.
Follow the instructions described by the camera setup program, and plug in your camera only when prompted. This is usually done after restarting your computer.

Best regard.

I am not sure how to install the software

WARNING: DO NOT connect the camera to your computer before installing the software.
To install the software, insert the Logitech camera software CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive. The Setup screen should appear. If it does not, please perform the following steps:
  1. Click Start and then Run.
  2. Type D:Setup.exe and press the Enter key.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
After the computer reboots, the driver installation for the camera will start. Do not connect the camera until the setup prompts you to connect the camera cable to your computer.
While the driver installation progresses, remove the camera and camera base from the packaging and mount the camera on the camera base.
When prompted, plug the camera into the USB port. You should see the following diagram to let you know where to plug the camera in:

After the installation is complete, the camera should be ready to use.

USB Troubleshooting - Windows

Many problems relating to camera connection issues relate to hardware other than the Nikon camera. There are numerous compatibility issues between USB Controllers, motherboards, main CPU chips and different versions of the Windows operation systems. Below are some helpful links. Select "USB controllers" on the link and then find your USB controller on the list, if your controller is not listed as compatible or "logo" with your current operating system you may need to upgrade your OS, or work with alternate hardware. http://www.microsoft.com/hwdq/hcl/default.asp The Compaq web site has information regarding issues with their Deskpro 2000/4000 USB and Windows 2000. http://www.compaq.com/support/techpubs/customer_advisories/DG000117_CW01_0.html The Microsoft web site has information regarding issues between AMD Processors and Windows SE. http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q240/0/75.ASP One method for restoring USB functionality is to remove the currently installed USB Controller (from the Device Manager).
