Question about DeLonghi Pinguino PAC-GSRU Air Conditioner
I had a split system air con fitted 2 weeks ago - delonghi brand
It is working well both hot qand cold - however I got a very little nibbling from the outer casing screw when I touched it the other day and had an independent electricial take a look at it - he messures a 120 volt current through the casing screws.
how much of an issue is this? could it get worse ? will it possible cause the unit to fail in time? (I know there isnt a definitive answer - just an opinion im after)
Im just out of warrantee
There is a definitive answer. If tthe tester reads 120 volt current through the casing screws, then as already said by Keemothere is one of the power wires making contact. If read is 120V, probably the problem is on power supply or compressor contacts.
The unit as it is now, is unsafe, using it is an hazard, unplug power and do not use it until you have it fixed.
I posted on Keemo solution just because there is a safety issue regarding your case.

If your getting current to the casing it means that you have a live wire inside that is coming in contact, and i'm surprised that it has not tripped a circuit breaker. this is something to be taken seriously. if you have someone that knows how to work on things like a handyman have hime take the outer cover off the unit and find the pinched positive voltage wire. please rate this thanks
