Wi Fi driver downloading

The following is the file I would like to install.

D00464-001-001.exe - Gateway Broadcom Wireless Network Drivers Version: 3.100.64.1

This is the wireless driver that malfunctions (marked with yellow) as seen in device manager. I found the file on Gateway site as the affected computer is Gateway.

I was just on that link that you sent me and it includes a walk through on how to run it, but from what I understand you are saying after you overwrite the files, it still does nothing?

Ahh.. Now that I downloaded and ran the file, I can see your dilemma. It doens't do what the instructions say it should..

That's ok.. To launch the installer, click on start and go to run. In run type in "C:\cabs\D00464-001-001\setup.exe" (without the quotes) this should launch the installer and put all needed drivers and files on the system for your wireless card.

Lemme know if you have any other questions, good luck!

My gateway laptop cant connect to the internet. _When I plug a cable, the red light in the port does not respond _ The WIFI does not respond

Hello John,
It seems that: 1. Your LAN controller and the WiFi controller could be disabled in your BIOS setup. To re-enable them, if applicable,
  • Press the F1(or F2 ) key repeatedly after restarting the computer to enter the BIOS setup.
  • Navigate through your BIOS and locate the settings for LAN conroller and wireless, and select Enabled to enable them.
2. You may not have the appropriate drivers installed on your laptop for your network controllers. Upon further investigation, your laptop runs on the following network hardware:
  • ActionTec IEEE 802.11b network card installed in Mini PCI expansion slot
  • Broadcom BCM94306 IEEE802.11g network card installed in Mini PCI expansion slot
  • Broadcom BCM94300 IEEE802.11a/g network card installed in Mini PCI expansion slot
Download and install your drivers for the hardware above from: Wireless Drivers(Broadcom BCM94306) from http://www.soft32.com/download_175098.html Broadcom BCM94306 10/100Mbps LAN drivers from http://www.broadcom.com/support/ethernet_nic/downloaddrivers.php
Hope this solution helps.Good day.

Go to Network conections and enable the wireless device. OR, you may need to open up the wi-fi door and check the model# on the wi-fi card, and type in the model# followed by 'drivers' in a Google search to acquie the drivers, too

One click link for wifi driver for compaq V3000

the Compaq website is showing two possible wifi drivers..

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&os=228&product=1817059

If you go to the link above and go down to network and then choose either Intel Pro/Wireless drivers or Broadcom Wireless LAN driver. (I would probably try the Intel driver first).

Download them to your desktop and then double-click on them and follow the install instructions. If the first one doesn't work go back and try the other.

Broadcom bcm94306mp does not detect networks

A bcm94306mp is a Dell B/G Wireless Internal card - and dell doesn't usally play well with compaq, you can download driver for it : http://www.opendrivers.com/driver/232571/broadcom-bcm94301mp-bcm94306mp-bcm94309mp-driver-3.140.16-windows-98se-me-2000-xp-free-download.html

- but, since there was a slot for the card to go in, there also should be connectors that attach (for internal antenna) which without would get very little or no signal. If the orginal card was bad, you should have gone for a USB or PCMIA wi-fi card.
