Question about PC Desktops

I have been trying all night to find a web site that stocks a "Sumvision Panther GT 2.0 megapixel Aluminum Web Camera" and will accept a debit card? I bought one today for myself in a shop a long way from where I live. I want to buy one and get it delivered to my son & daughter in Ireland because their one is Kyboshed! The one site I found that sold it they demanded that the delivery person and address was the same name as the name on the debit card! Which kinda screws my plan to order and pay for the webcam and get it delivered to them in Eire. Any Knight in shinning armour out there at this unholy hour with any suggestions, both myself and my kids would be eternally gratefully. God Bless and Good Life

Certificate error on web site.

This is basically an Internet Explorer 7 Website’s Security Certificate problem! You have to self-sign the certificate on the client computer or add the URL manually to the trusted security zone. When you are trying to access a secure web page, you receive the warning message:

"There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority."

Or

"Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept data you send to the server."

To fix this issue, you can follow either of the methods:

Method 1:

You have to install the Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 (Windows SBS) self-signed certificate on the client computer. To do this, follow these steps:

  • In Windows Internet Explorer 7, click Continue to this website (not recommended).
A red Address Bar and a certificate warning appear.
  • Click Certificate Error button to open the information window.
  • Click View Certificates > click Install Certificate.
  • Click Yes, to install the certificate, when warning message appear.

Note: For Windows Vista users, right click on Internet Explorer icon. Select Run as Administrator.

Method 2:

Add the URL to the Trusted Sites security zone:

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Go to Menu bar > Tools > Internet Options.

    tool.jpg
  • Click Security > Trusted sites > Sites

    sec.jpg
  • Type the URL in the Add this website to the zone text box > uncheck Require server verification >Add > click OK

    trust.jpg
  • Click OK to exit.

    cus.jpg

Now you have added the URL successfully into the Trusted Sites security zone.

Hey, do you no how to unblock facebook on a school...

Its hard to tell how but i searched an answer over the net and all you have to do is to reverse the step by step guide to block a site. Good luck. Remember to just reverse the direction.
1. Load your Internet explorer
2. Click Tools
3. Click Internet Options
4. Click the Privacy tab
5. Under the Privacy window, Click Sites
6. Type in the site address that you want to Block and Click OK. Remember this technique only blocks on one site at a time. Parental control software will allow you to block multiple sites and categories.

How to Block A Website in All Web Browsers

This action will require you to edit your Host file. Your host file is a computer file used to store information on where to find a node on a computer network. For more a more detailed description. Check out this link Host File Description Link
In Windows XP
1. Click Start->All Programs->Accessories->Command Prompt.
2. Click Command Prompt This will open a DOS command window.
3. Type: notepad C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/hosts
4. Locate the line 127.0.0.1 localhost
5. To block the website google.com for example, just add this text under 127.0.0.1 localhost:

127.0.0.1 google.com
127.0.0.1 www.google.com
You can add as many sites any site, However you will need to prefix it with "127.0.0.1".

6. Save the file
Google will now be blocked in all web browser. This is an advanced but easy method on how to blow a website.

Installion cd i got is blank, how can i get the software online

Hi partapsv,

This have been a known issue with Gemini Hitech products. Even their own website do not provide downloads for the drivers for their products. I think that is really sad.

I have a friend who tried contacting Gemini in the past through the contact information provided on their website and he never got a reply back. Seems like Gemini customer or help desk support is hopeless.

Though I ran across this driver provided by Driver Guide which will work with Gemini Hitech USB web cameras. This is only available to its members BUT you can sign up for a free account with driver guide if you want to give this a try. The file is called lc100.zip.

http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?action=download&driverid=107185

Hope this helps. Good luck!

My computer is not accepting cookies.

Assuming you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, you have to do this:
  1. In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  2. Click the Privacy tab, and then click Advanced.
  3. Click Override automatic cookie handling, and then specify how you want Internet Explorer to handle cookies from first-party Web sites and third-party Web sites (a Web site other than the one you are currently viewing).
    • To specify that you want Internet Explorer to always allow cookies to be saved on your computer, click Accept.
    • To specify that you want Internet Explorer to never allow cookies to be saved on your computer, click Block.
    • To specify that you want Internet Explorer to ask whether or not you want to allow a cookie to be saved on your computer, click Prompt.
  4. If you want Internet Explorer to always allow session cookies (cookies that will be deleted from your computer when you close Internet Explorer) to be saved on your computer, click Always allow session cookies.
 Notes
  • Some Web sites require cookies; therefore, if you select a setting that does not allow cookies to be saved on your computer, you might not be able to view certain Web sites.
  • When you change your privacy settings, the changes might not affect cookies that are already on your computer. If you want to ensure that all of the cookies on your computer meet your privacy settings, you should delete all of the existing cookies on your computer. When you return to Web sites that previously had saved cookies on your computer, the Web sites that meet your privacy settings will save cookies on your computer again. The Web sites that do not meet your privacy settings will not be allowed to save cookies on your computer, and might not function properly.
