Won't boot Was working. I installed a gforce 6200 agp graphics card and a 480 watt power supply. This was supposed to work. Didn't. Now computer will run but no screen. Can't get into safe mode or bios or anything else. theearl134bid@gmail.com

I tried doing just that but the computer would not recognize the cd. The
problem is that I cannot get any screen what ever I do. Could the 480
watt powers supply have been to strong for something? How would one know if something has been destroyed?

Is there nothing at all on the screen? If you are seeing nothing at all, I'm guessing the new graphics card is not working. Try an old card to see if something shows up. BTW, having a 480 watt power supply shouldn't affect anything. It just allows you to power more things.

Are you possitive your motherboard support this card? check the documentation for your motherboard and double check.
use another video card, one that would allow you to see the screen, go into your bios and disable the onboard video then try again with the gforce 6200 agp graphics card.

You will need to flash the graphics bios of you comp. Put the CD that you got along with the Card and reboot your computer and then follow the onscreen instructions to flash it.

Let me know if you need more help!

Sai.

No, if you attempt that then your computer with either not work because of video card errors, or it will boot up and run for a couple hours and then the graphics card will most likely melt due to insufficient power to the fan. Your best bet is to return the video card and buy a video card that is compatible, or buy a new power supply with the connections that you require.

Hello i can't install a AGP 512 videocart I bought

your computer needs more than the video card ram amount to use a particular video card. if you do not have at least 512mb of system ram, that may be your problem. if you have sufficient ram, then you do not have a powerful enough power supply for the new card.

Werticle lines in pairs of four and long startup wait

your card is pulling too much power. check the wattage rating of the card and the wattage output of your power supply . good rule of thumb you want about 20% more that your card rating 450 watt card needs 650 watt power supply to run well. the extra is for your other stuff (dvd burner ,ect)

ATI Radeon 1650x Problem in Installation

This one is simple, the computer's stock powersupply which is probally at about 250 or 180 watts isnt generatiing enough power to the Vcard. Basically you need to purchase a higher watt power supply, you can get a decent 400+ watt for under 40 dollars almost anywhere.  Just a simple swap will do the trick.

New Geforce 6200 on AGP 8x slot has no output

if you can't get a display from the onboard vga the PSU must have killed the mother board. the 6200 gets all of its power from the AGP slot. so if the PSU killed the 6200 it must have gone thru the motherboard. it does not seem likely it took out the 6200 but nothing happened to the board. try taking out the RAM modules. if the computer does not beep then most likely the motherboard is dead.
