Big Honking Black Box On Screen When I Insert DVD To Play

I have a Big Honking Black Box On Screen When I Insert DVD To Play. It does not matter what button I push on clicker it still stays there. Grrrr. I have to literally press the stop and then Play button to get the stinker off. Any suggestions?

I fixed the problem by not subscribing as wasting my money. I went to the library instead.

    It's the close captioning on your TV. Go to your TV menu and turn off close captioning.

Hello there, sorry to hear about your issue. Usually this indicates that someone has hit the CLOSED CAPTION button or possibly the PIP (picture in picture) button on the TV remote. There is nothing wrong with the xbox, it is actually a setting on your TV. Check the remote to see how you can disable closed captions.

My bottom mid button doesn't work


You have to go to yur mouse configuration and change the middle button. Seems like it is set at minimizing the window.

The black box is caused by the Closed Caption option of the tv. Go into the menu and turn it off.

Try to look at your captions on your tv...you probbally have them set on text 1 or 2 which cause the box to pop up also why it goes away when you push a button. Turn all caption functions of your tv off...cc and text this should take care of the problem.

I had the same problem. A big black box in the middle of the screen that would temperarily go away if with the EDS button.
Go to the main menu and turn off closed captioning. It worked for me! :D

Seems that you have to go into setup and look at the Closed Captioned screen set up.
