Wiring Diagram for a Emerson Motor in a Tempstar Central A/C

I am attempting to replace the fan motor (Emerson Model #K48HXFPH3956), but lost my homemade "map" to re-attach the wires in the central air unit (Tempstar Model #NAC030AKA5). Can you help me? The wire colors are black, brown, red.

Thanking you in advance...Steve Smith

Hey Steve,

Brown is for the compasitor, black is common, red is the speed. black and red go to the contactor and brown to the run cap. 5mfd

Tempstar indoor outdoor central air unit is so noisy you can't hold a conversation. any lubricant's i could use and where.

I'm assuming you have an air handler that is inside. Turn the power off and make sure there is nothing that the fan is hitting. If not the bearings are probably bad. These motors are sealed and cannot be lubricated. You will need to replace the fan motor.

I need a wiring diagram for an Emerson condenser fan motor k55hxkwa-9803. More specifically I am looking for how to reverse the direction of the motor.

For the Emerson Rescue EchoTech Motor (M055PWCRY), sometimes the handy reversing method (simply flipping the connector around) fails to work right and the motor keeps going the wrong way. Attached are photos showing how to open up the motor and then there are 2 steps to try. If step 1 fails to get the motor going the right way, move on to step 2. After performing step 2, simply removing the jumper will change the motor direction. The reversing plug-in connector will no longer have any effect after following the instructions in the photos.

My old motor on my central air unit has 4 wires and my new motor has 5 wires. wich brown wire do I use and what do I do with the extra one

There should be a wiring diagram on the side of the motor. Usually when you have two brown wires they connect to the terminals on the capacitor.

I have emerson quiet kool but the fan with not turn it keep on making a miiiiiiiiii sound

Hi, what has happened here is you have lost the blower motor to the unit. Anytime a motor will not turn and makes noise as it is trying to start, the windings are about gone, and /or the bearings are froze up. I know this is a Emerson, but I don't know the model of this unit, or if it is a window/wall unit or larger. If it is a wall type unit, it will have a dual shaft motor in it for the blower and condenser fan. It would not be worth the cost to have this motor replaced unless it is a Emerson central heating and air system. It is possible that this unit has a run capacitor on it that may have failed, but when this happens the motor will just stop and not make any noise at all. The motor needs to be changed out if its a central unit, and if you want to get an estimate to change it out if its a window or wall unit you can, but it may cost you more then the unit is worth, just to be honest from my years in this business. Please keep me posted on this and what you decide to do. Please don't forget to rate this post as I know you will be kind. I wish I had better news for you, but this happens and there is not much you can do your self. I wish you the best.
Sincerely,

I have an old Tempstar air condition and when I turn it on the compressor runs and the fan looks like is is wanting to turn but it quits. HELP me

Check the voltage on the fan connections. Bad connections cause resistance to current. If connections & voltage are good than the problem is probably your fan motor if its clean from dirt/grease/dust etc. Plug off the unit and try to spin fan blades with a pencil and observe if rotor is turning freely. If its spin normal than again your fan motor is not good.

If its try to spin on its own when the units turned on and creates excessive heat, this indications generally pointed an abnormal resistance problem at the circuitry or on the power consumed points of the unit.

I think this is a double problem post,so I will answer the top first.
The fan capacitor may be bad or the motor it's self is seizing up and will need replaced.

Second portion of post:
  1. Brown and brown/white go to the new capacitor(If you didn't get a new one with the motor,You will need to)Should be 7.5 mfd
  2. Black To the contactor where the black was originally connected
  3. yellow to the contactor where the red was originally connected
