I thought I had accomplished this, but when I try to open my files that are on the flashdrive all it asks me is if I want to copy or extract my files. I know I have missed an important step! Can someone give me step by step instructions on how to accomplish this task?

a flash drive becomes a drive letter in explorer when it is plugged into
the usb port. Explore your computer, find the drive letter for the
flashdrive then explore that drive. It is simply a matter of finding the

I am assuming you have a SanDisk flash drive which has some picture files and you want to download into the computer.
If you have a Windows XP or Vista running on your computer, you simply insert the flash drive onto the USB port. The flash drive will be selected as Drive F: or G: depending on what else is on your PC.
You then transfer these files to your C: drive. This should store the files.
You have not mentioned where these files have come from - if these are from another computer then you can open them directly on your PC.
But if these are created from either a camera or a mobile phone then you should be able to open these on your computer if these are JPG or AVI files.
The sandisk flashdrive has on the fly encryption. It encrypts it all the time when you remove it and then decrypts it all the time when you insert it unless you have a password. It's possible that sandisk has not encountered the different environment of windows 7 and did not make flashdrives ready for that os.
First connect your flash drive to computer usb port. Then open my computer you find your flash drive as removable storage. Then open it and minimize. Then select files which you want to copy then copy and then again maximize flash drive then paste files there. Let me know if you need more assistance. Thanks.
unfortunately the files cannot be recovered immediately, macs a are compatible with PC flash drives but not the other way around. you need to format the disk. go to start>my computer> then right click on the flash drive and then left click on format, then click ok. when it is done bring the flash drive back to the mac and put the files back on. now try putting the flash drive into the pc again
