GoVideo DVD/VCR Recorder VR 4940

This evening my GoVideo DVD recorder simply stopped working. The power light and the DVD/VCR dub lights are rapidly blinking. The unit will not turn on, the front interface is not working, and manually attempting to reset it is a no go. Anyone have any idea what might be wrong or more importantly, if I can get it going before having to dip into my savings for a new recorder?

How can I "PAUSE" while Copying from HDD to DVD on my Panasonic DMR-EX85 recorder?

Hi, Assuming the unit behaves much like a VCR-VCR dubbing setup you may be able to pause the DVD recordig on the fly simply by making sure the function is set to DVD and pressing PAUSE to start/stop recording
Hope this helps

How do you use the combo I tried but I did it wrong it says wrong dvd and it is a rewritable one Thamks

The Go Video VR 4940 can only record to DVD -R and DVD -RW discs. It cannot record to +R or +RW discs. It can play back many types of discs, but can only record to the -R and -RW ones.

VHS to DVD Dubbing Problem

I have the same problem. I saw a solution that said I needed to set my cable to a non-premium channel like NBC, ABC, PBS, CSPAN in order to allow the dubbing to occur without the +VR problem. At first, I thought it was a stupid solution; but guess what, It worked. I just set my cable box to from HBO to CSPAN,restarted the dubbing from VCR to DVD and it worked. Now the question is: Why do I have to change the channel when I'm dubbing from VCR to DVD?
This worked for me..still trying to figure out why it worked???
