How do I open range top

Need to know makwe and model but there will likely either be starps and screws at the back or hidden latches undere the top which you need to find and release with a dull knife blade or a spatula or a putty knife type of a tool.

I have a berkel meat slicer which the blade wobbles on ,

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

Most models have a bearing, washer and spacer that are support the knife/blade in the head housing. The parts are cheap and not to difficult to change.

Parts catalogs can be loacted using this link:

https://my.vulcanfeg.com/resourcecenter/vulcanwolfberkel/ProductDocumentation/Forms/ViewAllPartsCatalogs.aspx

You can use the following link to locate a distributor near you:
http://www.berkelequipment.com/Berkel/Service/

Without a model number I used the 823-827 series models as a reference here:

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

A plastic plate was put by mistake into our oven. It melted all over the bottom enamel. Trying to get this off with a knife and a razor blade has chipped some of the enamel. Can this be repaired .....

IM NOT SURE ABOUT THE TOXICITY BUT IF YOU HEAT UP THE OVEN AND WITH A GLOVE ON HAND AND A PUTTY KNIFE YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO REMOVE MOST OF IT. THEN MAYBE RUN A SELF CLEAN CYCLE WHEN YOU CAN OPEN THE WINDOWS AND REMOVE ANY SMALL CHILDREN FROM THE HOUSE.OTHER THAN THAT THE SPOT YOU REMOVED THE ENAMEL YOU MAY USE A BBQ GRILL PAINT TO COVER THE METAL OR JUST LEAVE IT.GOOD LUCK!

Have a glas fireplace insert that a kids rubed a acrylic blanked up against when extremely hot and now it is baked onto glass surface.

Chip it off with a single edge razor blade ... I suggest you get the holder for this blade at your ACE or other fine hardware store in your area. Spend about $4.00 to prevent injury.

My bottom oven will not heat

More than likely you have a bad ignitor, it works like a glow plug, it heats up, when it draws around 3.2 amps, it opens the gas valve and ignites, it stays on for the duration of baking/broiling. Like a light bulb, it has a finite life, I would do an amp draw on it, if it is drawing less than 3.1 amps then it is time to replace the ignitor, should cost around $40
