Question about Mitsubishi WT-46809 46" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Mitsubishi wt-46809 rear projection

I had a code 2-3 deflection failure. I took the board out and found one blown fuse f5a00 along with the convergence ic came unsoldered. So i purchased 2 new convergence ics and soldered them in along with replacing the fuse, and still get code 2-3 horizontal deflection failure. Do you know what else could be causing this? Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks

it is short protection and means one of the fuses for the convergence circuit is blown.

The 2 fuses you mentioned are associated with the convergence IC. If they are open then the convergence IC is either bad or you have a "cold" solder joint on the IC.

I just did this repair last week and here's what I did... I took a flat bladed screwdriver and CAREFULLY twisted it underneath each end of the connectors EQUALLY to be sure they raised out without damage.

22 is a error code for a short protect which is triggering shutdown . Try unplugging the crt circuit boards and seeing if the fuses still blow when you press power.

the vertical output IC may need re-soldering or it may be defective and need to be replaced. my guess would be bad solder on the vertical IC.
