Question about HP OfficeJet 6110 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

HP Solution Center cannot detect my 6110 AIO

When I open HP Solution Center I get an error message "No HP devices have been detected." However, my USB cable is connected and I can print from my applications without any problem. So, why can't the HP driver software detect my printer?

Hello Buzzland, this error usually occurs when the HP Digital Imaging monitor is not running in the background. HP digital Imaging monitor is a service that invokes the other services when required. If this service is not running, you may not be able to open the HP Solution Center.

You can usually find the icon of HP Digital Imaging Monitor in the systray. To check if the HP Digital Imaging Monitor service is running, open the task manager , and in the process tab, search for the file called "HPQTRA08.exe" . If it is not present , navigate to C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\Bin\ (assuming that your system drive is c: and the folder maybe HP or Hewlett Packard) and search for an application file named hpqtra08.exe. and double click it. The application will start running in the background. Sometimes it may also happen that you have unchecked some startup programs from the micosoft system configuration utility (msconfig) and this file (hpqtra08.exe) is also included in them. If so, you must check the application to run it on startup. Now , restart the system and open the HP Solution center. If it works, fine. If it does not work out , open "services.msc" from the command prompt and search for the service called "HPZPML" . If it is found, make sure it is started. (Set startup type = automatically). Restart the system and try opening the solution center.
Still if the issue persists uninstall the complete entire software and reinstall it. This will probably work in case all of ther others fail.

HP 6110 only works through Twain

Alright thanks for letting me know the o/s (honestly).

open your browser and type in www.hp.com.
In the window that opens up click on support and drivers.
Then click on download drivers and software (and i know your printer is a 6110) but download the software for the photosmart c7280 (full software and driver download). Save the software on your desktop with and easy name to remember.
Now if you have to software cd for the 6110 insert it into the cd drive and exit out of the autorun screen.
now open up my computer(either from the desktop icon or by clicking on start and then clicking on my computer).

now in the my computer window right click your cd drive and select open.
look for the folder called "util" and double click it. Then go inside the folder called ccc and double click on the file callled l3 uninstallation if u have and hp computer if it is any other brand then click on l4 uninstallation.
(if u dont have the cd go into control panel and in the add/remove programs uninstall all hp printer entries(imaging device functions/hp solution centre/hp photosmart drivers/....etc)

once the uninstallation of the old printer is done. Now double click on the downloaded software or if u have a run button click on that.
the extraction of the downloaded software will begin.

Now follow the onscreen instructions to install it but when the type of installation comes up the select usb installation and dont connect the usb.
There will be a little box on the installation screen saying check this if u want to install ur driver later.check that box and proceed .
the software will install properly. Once that is finished.

now insert your cd for the 6110 once more into the cd drive ,if you get the splash screen and you will get an option saying add a device click on that and again it will ask you how you want to connect your printer select the desired way(usb/network). now insert the usb cable and once the usb is detected then proceed with the on screen instructions and after that is finished you will get an icon on your desktop called hp solution centre double click that file and voila ur answer will or should be resolved.

I f you dont have the cd go back to the hp website and download the basic drivers and run the extraction once the download is complete again click on the option saying add a device choose ur usb or network installation and click on next, insert the usb cable and it should be detected and follow the onscreen instructions and your work should be done.

now you can scan from the solution centre, click on settings point to scan settings and click on scan to setup and move all items from the left hand side to the right hand side and click on ok/update the device and now try to scan and you shall see a huge smile back on your face.

this should work cauz this is what i do when i work with hp us customers,Provide solutions over the phone, except that im a little higher than an agent

Hi,

Please get back to me with the following information to assist you further.
  1. How is your printer connected to computer? (USB or Network)
  2. Have you installed Full feature software?
  3. If you are connected with USB cable make sure the cable is connected directly to the printer without any USB hubs.
  4. What is the OS?
  5. Are you able to copy a document on the printer (stand alone copy)?

HP Officejet J5750 can't scan, fax from PC and no HP devices detected error

This issue is common with every HP scanning software used with Windows OS which have a firewall running.

If you would try the following:

- check the task bar if HP digital imaging monitor is up and running
- if not, go to C:\program files\hp\digital imaging\bin and double click the file HPQTRA08.EXE
- now the monitor should run
- if not, pls reinstall the software (*)
- if yes, pls try to open HP solution center

- if solution center starts, pls try to scan or to fax
- if successful, no other steps are required

- if faxing is not successful, check in the printer folder, if you find a HP <device name> series fax entry
- if you cannot find it, unplug the printer and delete the entries in both the printer folder and scanner folder
- also run the software CD and start the uninstall_l1.bat and uninstall_l2.bat in the util\CCC on the CD (if 64 bit OS, the run the 64 bit versions)
- restart the PC with the loaded CD
- replug the printer and let it be reinstalled

(*) For a clean reinstall it is recommended to contact HP support. They know the best way to leave a clean system on the PC.

Hope it helps.

Try a complete uninstall:

Unplug the USB cable from your PC.
[If it is a WinVista Operating System Then in Go to Start> Control Panel> Programs and features delete all the entries you see for HP.( If it promts a restart do not restart now)
Rest all steps wil be same as winXP]

If it is a WindowsXP Operating System then:

Go to Start> Control panel> Add or Remove programs. and delete all the entries you see for HP.( If it promts a restart do not restart now)
Then open my computer> C:drive> Program files> and delete the HP Folder only (not Hewlett Packard)
Then Open C:drive> Program files> Common Files and then delete HP and Hewlett Packard folder.
Then Go to C:Drive> Windows> Temp and empty the temp folder as much as you can.
Then go to Recycle bin and empty recycle bin.
Then Insert the All-In-One CD and cancel the installation process.
Open the content of the CD> and open Util folder> Then CCC> Then click on Uninstall_L4 and follow the on screen process.

After all restart the computer.

And if possible download the software from HP website:

For WinXp:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-49256-2&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&os=228&product=3192753

Then click on download only and then follow the on screen instruction to install the All-In-One, ONLY PLUG THE USB CABLE WHEN PROMPTED DURING INSTALLATION.

Fo WinVista:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-49256-2&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&os=2093&product=3192753

Then click on download only and then follow the on screen instruction to install the All-In-One, ONLY PLUG THE USB CABLE WHEN PROMPTED DURING INSTALLATION.

Let me know if any problem.

Good Luck

    2. If the software installer does not automatically start, complete the following steps:

      2. On the Open line, type D:\SETUP , where D is the letter of the CD-ROM drive.
      3. Click OK .
    3. Click Uninstall on the installer screen. If Uninstall is not an option, the software installation was incomplete. Click Install .
    4. Follow the onscreen instructions until the printer software is completely installed.

Causegtabtop.gif There are several reasons this can happen. The device was not connected during the installation of the software, there is no printer icon in the printer folder, the Digital Imaging Monitor is not running, or the HP service PML driver is not running.
