Question about Sony Grand WEGA KF50WE610 50" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Blue Lines I replaced the bulb two years ago when we had problems with it turning on. It fixed the problem. Recently it has started producing blue vertical lines across the screen. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry about the delayed response, I just saw this one...

Since this is a LCD based set, there is no "convergence IC" to replace. Can you better describe the blue lines you are referencing? Are these thin lines or wide bluish bands? This intiially sounds like a problem with the LCD block, but I would need a better description to be sure. Also, does this happen all the time or just after the set warms up?

Thanks,
Dan

Just click below for convergence repair kit;

http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/

Blue,red and yellow wave coming up from the bottom of the screen on the lower left symptom is for busted convergence IC,you must replaced this IC in order that will works better again.STK 392-xxx ICs and it's associated resistor,this resistor automatically change value,can caused truoble even though you change the ICs.If you bring this to a service center they cost you $600 to $700,but if you buy the repair kit you can save more,don't wory it is very easy because there is intallation guide including in the repair kit. Feel free to ask whatever the result... click the link for sample picture guide step by step installation;

Hope this may help;

Problem with sony 60" rear projection TV

Hi,
I'm afraid, it is problem of optical block unit (light engine) that produce picture by 3 lcds inbuilt, the blue lcd and its related uv filters become defective and causing this kind of blue hue on screen.
Complete optical unit block (light engine) will be replaced by qualified tech to get tv fixed, light engine is costly part so ask an estimate before sending tv in.
Thanks.

Problems with my Mitsubishi hd1080

If the Blue lines are blurs or shadows, then your Convergence IC's are going or gone bad.
I have the same TV - it will be 4yrs. old in Dec. Mine started with Blue lines & shadows, then Red, Blue, Green Shadows. This is caused from over heating. The Convergence IC's have to be replaced.
I have had 3 TV Repair shops all quote me a price from $350. to $400. to repair. They all said 4 years is the usual life time for these IC's.
Replace the STK932-110amps with STK394-250-E or STK392-150 for greater reliability.
Use only Original Replacement Parts, there are some cheaper but won't last and can't take the heat.
If you are a "do-it-yourselfer" here is a link with the directions and pics.

On your blue tube there is a crt broad that may have a bad capacitor 4.7uf 250 volts most likely it can be leaky not able to hold correct charge also it might have video ic on same broard breaking down, this will cause your problem unplug crt broad from bottom neck of tube turn set on see if problem goes away if so then it means you have problem with crt broad or it could be your tube.Hope this helps you out!

I guess it's missing blue. Even if you see the blue crt working it's not enough and focalised. replace the coolant in it and also check if you have some coolant leak on the crt pcb.

Faint red lines in a curved arch like pattern

Guys I did this myself real easy. Just don't turn the corresponding screw too far. Only need to adjust it until the lines go away. Do it on a darker screen so the lines are more visible. I did the red 2 years ago and the green 6months before that. The blue lines are coming on my screen now and I've fixed it in 10 minutes. The TV is amazing.
