Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
I got a used (but barely) PS3. Very good condition. It didn't come with the cables, so I bought my own AC chord, power chord, and controller.
I set it up and it was fine, while I was waiting for my controller, it turned on and the sound and screen was working (had the "please connect controller" screen on.)
Once I got my controller, I hooked it up, and installed MGS4. Had absolutely no problems during installation or during set-up of my PS3.
After I installed it, and pressed start, the screen turned off. It wouldn't load, I waited for a few minutes and pressed the Playstation button and turned off the system through that (so I guess the screen was working, just not the game.)
I turned it back on, and I didn't get the screen. Any screen at all. I checked all of my cables, the AC cables. Everything's plugged in. I noticed that when I held down the power button, it didn't turn off, even though it was green. Also, my controller didn't recognize it was plugged in (even when wireless, wouldn't be recognized.)
I'm scared my PS3 is broken. What do I do?
Nope, I don't have the original. The guy who came here to look at it said it's broken, and the man who sold it to me said he's going to get me a new one.
Thanks for your help!

How did you turn it off? Did you use the"hard switch" in the back of the ps3, or the soft power button in front?
My ps3 locks up on occasion, and have to turn it off with the hard switch in the back.
If that doesn't work try this:
Turn off the ps3 with the hard switch, then hold your finger on the soft power button in the front while turning the hard switch to the on position. Hold your finger on the front power button for about 10 secs, this should reset your vid settings.
Hopefully this is helpful to you.
