Check the wires one of them may have been knocked lose, make sure the socket is on and the plug is in correctly, some wires can be a little faulty it may be just on of your fuses had gone check the plug is working by buying an electronic device design to test the socket the box is small and has four yellow lights... Shop around... Once you found one plug into your socket to see the four lights light up... now they will turn off and now plug in both you printer at laptop plug one a time to see if the four lights come on if they don't time to find a new plug.

Using audio video jacks on my computer

Make sure you have the correct plug. The audio out is usually a green plug with a little picture of a speaker next to it. The microphone jack is usually red with, you guessed it, a little picture of a microphone next to it. If you're trying to get sound from your PC to your stereo, you want to connect the cable to the green PC jack.

Also, make sure your volume on the PC isn't muted. In the lower right hand corner of your PC screen, you should see a little speaker icon (click the arrow next to the other icons if you don't see it). Double-click that speaker icon and look at the volume settings. Make sure nothing is muted or set too low, then try again.

Hope this helps.

The memory module you installed may not be the correct type. Try removing it and if the computer starts fine after that, the memory is either wrong for your computer, or it is a bad module.

Go to and run their memory scan tool. It will tell you the exact type of memory your computer uses. Compare that information to the sticker on your memory module.

Is the DVD drive a SATA drive? That is, does it have a small (approx. 3/4") connection next to the power connector or does it have an IDE 40 pin connector? If it is a SATA drive, you do not need an audio cable connection.

I put some new parts in my pc and knocked the wires for the speakers and dont know where to recconect them to my motherboard?

You'll need to plug it into the Analog Output; you can see a general picture of the back of a computer here. The key is that the icon next to the Analog Output port, with concentric circles and the arrow going out, is the same on every computer, so that's what you need to look for.

Ok, i dont know much about computer, but i found my uncles laptop after he passed away. it says its an acer travelmate 290e series with windows XP home edition. when i plus it in a bunch of lights blink,...

If it's plugged in a light should come on to show that it's charging. Next you need to press the on button on the laptop and it should then turn on.

If it makes a sound when you turn it on (i.e. starts humming) but the screen stays black then it may be that the screen is switched off.

I think the best thing may be for you to refer to this guide as it will help you get started with the laptop but if you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask!

Hope this is helpful

I relocated my computer from one room to another, now my speakers won't work. I don't have another computer to check the speakers, so trying to determine if speakers plugged into correct spot. Where should...

There are usually little pictures or icons next to the connectors themselves. Look for something that looks like a little speaker. Could even look like a sound wave pattern. (((( or something similar.
