Like many others on this website, I have recorded videos onto a DVD-R disk but cannot view that disk when I insert it into my PC. I've tried multiple programs as well. I've read about 'finalizing' the disk but have not seen simple instructions on how to do this. Please advise. Thanks! i have recorded footage on my dvd-r disk and the finalize button is broke on my camcorder. I have tried to finalize on my pc but i cannot. I have a sony dvd-r/rw handy cam 120x zoom, 3.5 hybrid lcd. Please help!

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

SOURCE: downloading footage from USB camcorder to a MAC
Hi, still pictures being in digital format would be downloadable to the computer straight from the camera. Video footages in tape is analog and cannot be dowloaded. You would need a video capture device. It is an interface device that sits between your tape player/camera and your computer. Normally would have a video input either in RCA (yellow) or S connector and provision to connector to your computer (USB, firewire). Also provision for audio (white/red) connection or straight to the line/aux input of your computer. You then have to run the accompanying software to capture the movie while it is playing in realtime in the camera. If the video footages are saved in a memory stick, flashcard or some other digital format, then it is directly readable/downloadable from the camera to your computer. Hope this be of some help. Regards.

SOURCE: I am trying to transfer
This type of camera downloads video with a Firewire (Sony call this i.Link) connection. Some mini-DV and D8 cameras have a USB connection which is used for stills ONLY.
There is a Sony tutorial page for downloading video to computer at THIS LINK You will need to select Macintosh as the operating system (and press the Transfer to Mac button), then Mini-DV as the camera type, then select the type of connection. You are strongly recommended to use i.Link (which everyone else calls Firewire).
