Mp3 player wont come on/computer won't recognize it
When i push the power button on my mp3 player the sandisk logo flashes on and then turns completely off sometimes the logo won't even come on at all. I can't tell if its charging anymore when its plugged into the computer and now the computer wont recognize it at all.
Re: mp3 player wont come on/computer won't recognize it
First, try a soft reset. Do this by pressing the center button and the up volume button simultaneously and try turning it on. If that does not work for you, you will need to get a micro sd card (it can be a dummy) and insert it into the slot on the side of the mp3 player. If you do not have one, you can use one of the round edges of a paper clip (be careful) to get it to come on. When you put either in, it should come on automatically, but if not, just press the power button. This should work.

Does the computer recognize it at all? These mp3 players have a problem with the power button which you push up to turn on,,,, the switch some times become dislogged and require the consumer to either open it or replace it... you can try to reset the device by holding the power button in on position for 10-20 seconds
Your device battery might be defective..since you said the device is not charging when you connected to the computer..Ill strongly recommend that you call sandisk to see if they can set up an RMA for you...I hope that helps..
The number for sandisk is 1-866-726-3475 Please rate accordingly Thank you Computerrep
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.
You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.
- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.
Then run the recovery tool. Again, select format when prompted.
Best of Luck.
