The problem is hard water. www.dishwasherfilter.com has a product to solve this problem once and for all. It filters the water going into your dishwasher and removes the hard minerals that leave those spots. It is very affordable and even has a money back guarantee. You will love the way your dishes look with this product.

PDW7880J10SS SOAP DISPENSER DOES NOT FULLY OPEN UNTIL DOOR IS OPENED

Ours has a wire in the top rack that looks like it was made too long. I may try trolling it to see if that helps. Putting the to rack in the upper position may help as well.

Our GE diswasher is leaving a white film on all the dishes. We are running it on normal wash and heated dry. Can you put vinegar in the dishwasher to clean it out?

If there is not enough water, the dishes would not get cleaned. This could be caused by a partially closed water shut-off valve (located under the sink), or a faulty dishwasher water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side).

Also, There is usually two, sometimes three spray arms in a dishwasher. Make sure there is no debris blocking the holes inside each spray arm.

**Water temperature Note***

To get the best results, the water has to be at 120 degrees Fahrenheit when entering the dishwasher.

Concerning the Film:

This problem occurs due to excessive calcium build up inside the dishwasher. Try cleaning your dishwasher unit by using a dishwasher cleaner. There are a few out there, Try Dishwasher Magic. It is the top formula.

Rotating arms getting clogged very frequently

I do not have a huge amount of information about the GE Profile PWD7880 handy, so I don't know if it has a chopper blade/food disposer at the bottom of your Dishwasher, but when a dishwasher gets the holes of the spray arm, the most common cause is the chopper blade is jammed/blocked. Then the food debris never gets sliced and diced at the end of the of each wash cycle.
Opening up the filter under the spray arm, removing as much of the lower assembly and inspecting every where in the sump area, especially the drain pump area would be a great beginning.
Good Luck! Just ask if you have more questions.
