Beeping and keys don't work

I type but only gets a beeping sound.

When turned on it beeps once. #1 lights up and stays on. When we begin to type it just beeps everytime we hit any key and doesn't move.

When you power up what happens? What lights are lit, are thy flashing, are there beebs and how many? These are error codes and are important.

    Do you have a printwheel in the machine? Does theT/W go nthru the POR Carrier moves to the the L. printwheel spins and moves to L. margin?

This problem is most often caused in typewriter models IBM / Lexmark 30, 35, 3500, 50, 5000, 70, and 7000. Easiest way to solve this is to remove the batteries, make sure you have the typewriter turned off. Re-install the batteries, turn the typewriter on and the problem should be solved.

SOURCE: Types a few characters then stops typing and just beeps...

Perhaps you have the R. margin set at that point. Try resetting it at the R. end.

sounds like you have a faulty door latch or bonnet switch. does the doors all lock/unlock mechanicaly with the key? if not the one that is not working has a faulty latch switch if all works check the bonnet switch the beep from the security system is thinking a door or boot/bonnet is open. hope this helps

If it beeps on every key depression try code s. If it beeps at the end of a word code 1. if it beeps at the same spot space to the right end and press R. MAR key.

I have Dell Inspiron 1440 Laptop. I am using it fop almost 2 years. But recently there is a problem when I turn on my laptop. At the start up I hear a continuous beep (beep-beep-beep-beep-.....beep....)...
I would check to make sure that no keys are stuck down, if they are they oveload a buffer in the computer and the beeping will drvie you crazy. Get some compressed air and blow under the keys or you can vacuum them sideways don't do it straight down or you'll **** the keys off :)

Sounds like your file system is GPT--Protected drive. You can either backup the information on the drive and reformat it as another partiton type or open it on windows using this program

Won't makes a sound when pressing on keys. I
you may need a new keyboard,, the beeping sound when pushing keys means there is a sticky key [bad keyboard]

I dont know what option you changed for the keyboard speed? try changing it back..

HP notepad - continueous beeping sound with equal sign characters
If you are getting a lot of = character along with the beeping, this indicates you have a stuck = key and the beeping sound is the keyboard buffer is swamped with the = character. If you can't unstick this key, then you need to replace the keyboard.

Depending on the type of business you are, the terminal can get pretty dirty on the inside and not look it on the outside. I had a florist contact me about similar issues with his terminal and after a good cleaning of the contact points under the pin pad the Omni worked fine.
