Question about Televison & Video
I use to have cable with Time Warner (DVR Box) and cancelled, now we just have basic with no box. The TV picture is fine, but only a couple channels have volume. Sound works fine with DVD's. Not sure if the cable tech. adjusted the setting somehow to be compatable with the box. My other TV (Polaroid) works just fine, I get a picture and the volume works. How can I get the volume to work on all channels?
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: HDMI Signal gone
The HDMI interface may have suffered a malfunction, this offten happens due to stray voltages on the ground plane. If you do not have electronics experience I would suggest taking the set to the shop and having it repaired

SOURCE: no sound time warner cable
I too have had the same problem. Took the cable box into TW and they gave me a new box. But when I was there there were 3 other guys getting new cable boxes too. New cable box and I still have the same problem. My cable box keeps rebooting about every 4 hours. Called the 800 # and they had no idea. Said I could take it into the office and get a new cable box or have a tech come out with a new box.

assuming you all have comcast and using an hdmi cable
first access menu (hit it twice) and go to set picture format, choose passthrough....or in your case auto hdmi
then turn box off, press guide and info on the front of the box, proceed through the setup, advanced is more in depth..lol...
select 1080, 720, and then either the standard or widescreen 480s to your liking.....
now check your tv settings to accommodate

I just got the same exact one, when it searches automatically the first time it doesn't look for digital channels. go to Menu>manual channel search>cable. it will look for all possible signals and will take forever probably. the free digital channels will take several seconds to switch channel to channel, but they're there! They will show up on your screen as "DC 91-2" or similar. you can switch back to regular cable channels with the input button, you just cycle through all the inputs. hope that helps.
