best way to solve it and recover your data is to take it to the vendor else you can use dos to copy it to your pen drive...lets understand 1st why a vendor can only work with it because its a laptop and the hard disk can not be accessed externally like with a desktop...so dont play with your critical data hope this will help u a lot...
I myself would purchase the external USB empty SATA Hardrive interface box and then connect it to your PC to see if it at least recognize the drive. If you really need the files from the drive if this tactic doesn't work then I would find a Data Recovery company that can pull your information off the disk and send it to you. 'You will loose the drive but recover the information'. Not cheep at all. Usually 3 to $400 charge. Blessings, A/V Media Guy
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable (of the HARD DISK pls)
pls first check the hard disk seated in the bottom left side of ur notebook u have to take out the 7 or 8 screws first and then take take it out by pulling the connector gently and try to re seat or re fit the hard disk so connector can seat firmly in hard disk and then power up ur notebook if Error persists
then sorry to tell u my friend that ur Hard disk has CRASHED and not giving up files for OS loading kindly replace ur HARD DRIVE and restore ur OS thru backup disk u got
Pls take care of ur notebook from bumps and falls and hard impacts during operation and carrying bcoz the disk inside the HDD is very sensitive and gets damaged easily by impacts
Be sure the HARDDRIVE JUMPER is set in right place TO MASTER SETTING(If this is only harddrive you are using?),What bios options do you have?(BIOS AUTODETECT?),lastly what changes did you do B4 yu got this error?
An error message as you have posted would indicate: 1. The hard disk does not contain a valid operating system. Alternately, it may have the OS installed but some files are missing or corrupted; 2. The partition of your hard disk may have been deleted/missing; 3. The hard disk is no longer recognized by the computer; 4. Your CMOS/BIOS is set to boot from the CD/DVD only but it does not contain a bootable disc;
Corrective measures may include any or all of the following: a. Load and use the restore/recovery CD of your PC if it came with one; b. Repair or re-partition of hard disk; c. Repair or re-format of hard disk; d. Repair or re-install the Operating System; e. Re-configure CMOS/BIOS to boot from the hard disk (HD) first; f. Worst case scenario is replaced hard disk and re-install Operating System.
It is possible that you would loose most if not all of your documents, files and/or data unless you can do a back-up.
Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
