Try to see if you can buy a copy from eBay or at a yard sale.

Plustek Optipro 9636T - working under Windows 7.

If you scanner only has Win XP drivers, then you have only two choices as those drivers wont work on WIN 7. One is to buy a new scanner, as you have already suggested. The other is to create a virtual machine, load WIN XP onto it, and then install the scanner drivers on the virtual machine. This should work fine as I do it for a piece of software that only works on WIN XP, however it is a bit of a inconvenience to use.

Windows Home XP is no longer supported by Microsoft, and changing to that OS will not resolve your issues. Did this PC have a warranty? Your problem is best addressed by returning it to the seller for replacement or to their qualified and certified service technicians. This issue does not sound like an OS based problem, but may be a software related problem. Contact Acer and describe these symptoms to them and see what their solution is. If you purchased this from a reputable retail outlet they should have no problem getting you a replacement. If you bought this from some eBay seller or from Amazon as a used product you need to deal with them. Do not wait or delay taking care of this - your time and money are at stake here.

I did some checking and found that ACER no longer supports the model - it was new in 2010 and they are not making it anymore. So, you have no warranty to rely on unless the seller warranted it at the time of sale. This is one reason not to buy used computers - you never know if they are old until you do some research and you don't know if when new the particular model series had a raft of problems reported or if they were relatively trouble free. You should return this turkey and spend a little more for a decent new laptop - many are available for $300.00 now days and will have some sort of warrantee coverage. You may have gotten this machine for a low price, but if you have to shell out hundreds to get it to work it is not a good deal. Return it with a report of the problems and whomever sold this to you should refund your money. I have been in the PC business for more than 20 years and I have seen this kind of thing before. People get taken advantage of in this kind of deal all the time and it should be a ***** crime. Your story is unfortunately sad but all to common. Please get your money back if you can and buy a new machine - that way if there is a problem with it you will not be left vulnerable to the cheats in this business. I really hate this kind of thing, and I am truly sorry it happened to you.

I use MS Money 2001. I bought a new PC and is changing from MS Windows XP Pro to Windows 7 Pro. I would like my ms money 2001 to continue working on new PC but I can't find the original disc to copy on...

Hi pjhmulder
Assuming MS Money 2001 and 2003 are compatible with W 7 , you could install MS Money 2003 on the new computer and copy the files from MS Money 2001 on the old computer to MS Money 2003 on the new computer . Make sure you don't erase the MS Money 2001 files before transfer has successfully been executed .
Best regards ,

Have lost serial number for my Olympus Camedia Master 4.0/Pro sof

Is there a way of finding your camera software serial number thats installed on your old computer is this what your asking.

If so not unless when you open the software it allows you the option of looking at you license number like windows does.

Some software lets you see and change it to accommodate people who buy additional licences

I have a new computer with Windows Vista. I have

No it looks like they stopped the support at the old one, this means they did'nt make any drivers for the old one to function on vista.
Vista uses a very diferent driver model than xp does.
The drivers for xp won't work in any way on vista.

Building a computer.....

If your buying a New Video Card then then it will come with a driver disc anyway (or atleast it should do).
As for if Windows will pick it up automatically, that really depends on how old/new the video card is that you decide to buy, and also what version of Windows your running. You can say almostt any old/new video cards will be compatable under Windows XP Service Pack 2,  however fairly Old Models of Cards probably won't work on Vista.

Lost download disc

I couldn't find any software that could make your mp4 works, but if you have windows XP you don't need to have a Cd.
The computer by itself recognize it.
Also if you have the cable just plug it in the new computer and he will recognize it if it is windows XP. but if you have Windows Vista you will have to buy the Disc.
I hope my answer helped you .. Thank you

How old is this TV?
My experiance is to not put money into a TV that is over ten years old. TVs stress out their electronic components worse than almost any other electronic product. After 10 years, there are so many parts that are ready to fail that your are probably wasting your money trying to get any more life out of it.
Be careful on buying a new one though. Often times, these new technology ones are much worse. Always Google the model number of the set you intend to buy and add the word 'repair' or 'complaint' to see if it is one of the many models that are customer service nightmares being produced by even the most reputable companies today.
