I have Sony DVI HDTV rear projection 50". The picture looks like 3D. It use to clear up in about 30 mins, but have got progressively worse

I was told it was the convergence board, however I have no ideal where it is located or what it looks like. Is this the problem and can I replace it myself.

You have 2 distinct problems that should be addressed separately. Please repost the Samsung problem. I will address the Sony problem here.

If the "shadow" makes the picture seem somewhat of a 3D one, the problem is with the convergence circuit. This could be as simple as bad connections on the pins of the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you can solder and would like to attempt the repair, update this and I'll provide more details and instructions.

Can you post a picture of what the screen looks like? It could be convergence amps or a pincushion problem. The pic would help clarify the diagnosis.
