Question about Samsung HCM4216W 42" Rear Projection Television
I have a 4 year old SONY big screen rear projection (not HDTV) TV. I am having problems with a shadow on every image in the picture. Is there an easy fix for this? If not, what is the recommended professional course of action? i have a red shadow on everything down the right hand side of a samsung 42 inch rear projection the left half of screen is fine ?
You have 2 distinct problems that should be addressed separately. Please repost the Samsung problem. I will address the Sony problem here.
If the "shadow" makes the picture seem somewhat of a 3D one, the problem is with the convergence circuit. This could be as simple as bad connections on the pins of the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you can solder and would like to attempt the repair, update this and I'll provide more details and instructions.
