Thank you kindly in advance for any suggestions on the following issue with the NEC VT595. It will stay on for about 20 minutes and then cut out/off. Then I get the six interval flashing Power and Status...

There is a good chance that the problem may due to overheating. The status light would be blinking when it turns off.
Remember to disconnect the mains supply before working on the projector..
You should ensure that there is adequate ventilation and air flow around the projector, and that it is not in a very hot or humid room. Clean the air filters, using a vacuum cleaner. You should not need to remove the filter to clean it. Do not wash the internal sponge filter. It's better to replace it with a new one. The air filters are located on the side of the projector nearest the lens, one at the front and one at the rear.

How do you clean the filter

If you are facing the front of the lens, the filter is on the left side on the back. Pull it up and clean or replace. I use a can of air to clean. Replace in projector. You will need to clear the clean filer hours in the menu for the message to disappear.

My projector nec mt 1075 asks me to clean filter. How do i do it?

All you need to do is use a vacuum hose to vacuum the dust that collects on the filter. The filter cover is on the side of the projector with horizontal slits. You can vacuum through the slits, or remove the cover and carefully vacuum the filter itself. Then go into the menu and reset the filter timer. Find this reset button in the "setup" menu item. Then your clean filter reminder won't show until another 100 hours of usage.

How do I clean the filter?
Look at maintanance - Cleaning or replacing the filters (page 49)
Make sure you also clear the "filter hours usage" indicator. It is in the same manual on page 48.

My VT440 says this when it gets to it's pre-defined service life. (a certain amount of hours)

As long as you pop the filters out regularly and clean them (I use a vacuum cleaner) you shouldn't need to replace them.

After that, go into the projector options (with the remote control) and reset the factory defaults... otherwise it has no idea that you have actually changed the darn thing and keeps complaining no matter what! =-]

NEC Model VT48 - need to clean filter

This is a solution for the VT 480 by NEC for filter clean. on the left side there are two slots that have dust filters which can slide vertically to reveal micro screens that one can blow, tap vigorously, or vacuum to remove any dust build up. I hope this helps you with your unit.
