Hello my Marantz dv4100, didnt respond to my remotecontroll, Remote was working. remote from my philips dvd722 works fine with this Marantz-dvd too.
i found 2 solderings at the back of the front circuitboard in remotecontroll receiver optounit at the left side of dvd-display, pins 1 & 2 needed resoldering, had cracks in solderings. after that it was working fine again.
Turn on without disk and wait for "No Disk" on front panel display. On front panel, press and keep pressed Pause, while you enter 3,1,4,1,5,9 on remote. Release Pause immediately after the "9".
The word COdE is displayed on panel. Press number of region, or 0 for all regions. Then press Pause on panel again.
It sounds like the HDMI port on the back of your Marantz is damaged. if
you know for sure that the HDMI port works on another tv still you
might just use component connection because the visible difference
between component and HDMI is not very recognizable.
