My ipod touch recognises my wi-fi but cannot connect to any network. there are networks even showing under the "choose a network"

From what I have read, this is a hardware problem. I used my ITouch without any wifi issues for about a week and then suddenly it stopped working. The screen went blank during use, popped up the apple logo and then let me power back on. After "restarting", I could no longer get on the wireless network. My network settings showed "no wifi". Furthermore, opening iTunes revealed "no music", but my available hard drive space suggested I still had all of my music loaded. I also attempted to start up a non-Internet based app I had downloaded and the app crashed immediately after loading. Resetting and restoring does nothing to solve the problem. Hopefully I can get this thing replaced.

Usually, all iPods have a WiFi chip imbedded in the device so you have to pay nothing except for your currently active Wireless internet connection. Try checking your modem and making sure it's working for starters. If it is, then go on the iPod and go to settings, then internet connections. Select a valid internet connection and it should automatically connect, given a good signal strength.

If this helped/didn't help, let me know.

Turn on your Itouch, then touch "Settings", you will see "Wifi"...find the wifi that you want to connect to and touch it to activate the wifi.

How do i get my wep key for my itouch

The touch doesnt have a "key" this is the key from the Wi-fi spot you are trying to connect to.
You will need the person that owns that wi-fi to provide that to you. The itouch simply connects to the wi-fi and uses it for internet.
Hope this helps.

My ipod touch says its connected to my 2wire att modem but every time I try to pull up an app such as the itunes store it says invalid argument?

make sure you set up your access wep code or put the modems numbers in as the wep code. Try this, the itouch can find a wi-fi almost anywhere but to acces it it must be in the set up or alowed to use the wi-fi.

Downloading applications to ipod touch

Hi,   The easiest way to download to your iTouch is directly to your iTouch via the Apple Store. The Apple Store icon is already on your iTouch. Just make sure you are near an internet connection via Airport or Wi Fi. Click on "Download" on the selected app, and then wait a couple of seconds. Your iTouch will indicate when the download is done and the app is installed. You will see the new icon on your your screen page.
If you install from your computer, you will have to plug your iTouch into the computer and use the  iTunes app to control what you download.
I hope that helps.   Shari Dyer

Apple ipod itouch connection to wireless internet

don't let the iTouch connect to the wi-fi network it detected automatically - try setting up a new wi-fi network from scratch.
the setup screens will ask for network name (the SSID) the security protocol (probably WPA-PSK if you are having all this trouble) and the password (pre shared key)

should be all you need - good luck
