You need to get the stk chips replaced. i had it done with mine, it cost me 411 dollars for a tech to come do it. it worked fine for about 4 months now, and my red color is gone. mitsubishi sucks, sorry : (

not knowing model number I will suggest a few things: if green power light comes on for a few seconds and goes out:
On front of set press and hold both the Menu and Input (device) buttons at same time for at least 5 seconds and release both.
Power light should blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks,,2 blinks,, a pause and repeat it several times.
This is a error code that indicates what area problem is in, let me know what error code you find and I will tell you what it means----if set has been unplugged you will have to try to turn it on and let it fail before you go for the error code.
