Question about Kenmore 57022 Side by Side Refrigerator
After 2 years of good service, I found no ice in the dispenser of my side by side Kenmore model 5702. The icemaker is the top of the freezer and dispenser is in the door. I confirmed the red light for the icemaker switch, which is the side panel of the freezer, was on. I also tugged on the rotating arms. Something happened and one set of cubes was delivered to the dispenser. I thought it was solved. Not so. Next day...turned the switch off then back on, tugged on the arms. Something happened and 2 sets of cubes were delivered. It appears water is getting to the icemaker and cubes are being frozen. Something is preventing the automatic rotation to move the cubes from the maker to the dispenser. Suggestions.

SOURCE: Ice is not ejecting
Sounds like the icemaker thermostat is opening too soon which turns the heater off. The easiest thing to do is replace the whole ice maker which I have seen pretty cheap on ebay. If you want you can test these part with an ohm meter. Check the heater for resistance. If it is ok then replace the module and thermostat.

SOURCE: I have a Kenmore side
Most of the time the bin has been removed and not put back in properly. When this happens ice blocks the drive motor. Remove the bin and turn the auger by hand make sure it will turn and is not jammed. Now with the bin out push the light button in that turns the light out and have someone push the button for ice while the door is still open the motor should turn in the back make sure thereis no ice blocking it. If it turns nothing is wrong with the motor. The clicking sound is usually the motor jammed by ice or the auger not engaged on the motor. hope this helps good luck

you have to take apart the complete ice maker from inside the freezer as it has to be cleaned on a regular basis to operate properly. check with your owners manual, it tells you how to clean it.the ice cube shoot is the first to freeze up & block your flow of ice. it's not hard to do. all the best.
