Question about Dymo LabelWriter 400 Turbo Thermal Printer
Goes thru most of the installation then comes up with the following error message:
The file 'C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\DYMO Labels\Clipart\Sign\Escal.BMP' could not be opened. Please check that your disk is not full and that you have access to the destination directory. The system cannot find the path specified.
My disk has plenty of free space....I AM logged in as Administrator....I checked and rechecked. Have installed it on my Mac laptop with no problem but am trying to install on Windows XP desktop. The Windows XP Professional Service Pak 2 desktop is where I am running into difficulty. Anyone have a solution....contacted DYMO and gave them the same info as above. They said I should login as Administrator....duh, I am. Am I missing something....Thanks for any help you can give. MDarden
I had the exact same problem. I found that the "All Users/My Documents" folder did not have permissions set that would allow the user account I was logged in under to access the folder, even though I was an administrator account.
I set the permissions on the my documents folder to allow "everyone" to have full control, and then it all worked just fine.

If you haven't already done so, you should download version 7.8 from the Dymo site. https://global.dymo.com/enUS/RNW/RNW.html?pg=std_adp.php&p_faqid=101
I hope this helps. If not, have you tried to copy one of the other clipart bitmaps and rename it as Escal.bmp? I believe it's just a clipart of an escalator.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Sounds like vista to be honest. Either way i think you need to just give that special permissions to access folder. Try that and restart your computer.
