Question about Kenmore 62602 Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Dryer won't turn on

My dryer had no problems, never had. I was drying a load of sheets, I opened the door while it was still running, they were dry.I pulled them out, put in another load, closed door, and it wouldn't turn on. I checked breaker and door, both were fine. The push to start felt like it wasn't connecting so I bought a replacement switch and it didn't help. What now?

I have a 90 serious dryer, model 110.60922990, but the product line below won't accept that, so I'll just put in something else to get this to submit.

SOURCE: 110-60922990 shuts off ealry

Could be 2 things.
1) could be a malfunctioning thermistor.
2) vent could be so clogged that the hot air is being pushed back into the dryer.

I suspect number 2. Please go out where the vent exits and make sure you feel a good amount of air pressure. If you don't, do not use the machine again until you hire someone to flush the vent out, for it would a fire hazard to use. Thanks for posting your question on here. We greatly appreciate it. and Good Luck :)

No lint on filter? Where is it all going? Checked exhaust vent bought a vacuum attachment and there is no lint. Twice and sometimes triple the drying time! Help!

Instructions
  1. Dryer Does Not Run
    • 1 Close the door firmly. The dryer will not operate if the door is not completely closed.
    • 2 Press the "Start" button firmly or push the knob in to start the dryer.
    • 3 Turn the dial past the "Off" position and away from "Wrinkle Prevent." The dryer will not start in the "Off" or "Wrinkle Prevent" position.
    Long Drying Times
    • 4 Remove the lint screen. Clean it and replace it.
    • 5 Check the temperature of the room. The dryer will not operate properly in temperatures below 45 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • 6 Inspect the area around the dryer. It requires at least 1-inch clearance on the front and sides of the dryer. A 5-inch clearance is needed on the back of the dryer. Move the dryer, if needed.
    • 7 Separate large loads and do not use an air dry cycle.
    Lint, Stains and Wrinkles
    • 8 Clean the lint screen before drying each load of clothes to prevent lint buildup on clothing.
    • 9 Add fabric softener sheets before starting a drying cycle. If the sheets are added after the load has partially dried, they can leave stains on the clothing.
    • 10 Dry small loads and remove clothing as soon as the drying cycle completes to prevent wrinkling.
    Dryer is Noisy
    • 11 Check the inside of the dryer for loose change, buttons or other items. Empty the pockets on clothing before drying.
    • 12 Separate items that are knotted together and restart the load. Knotted or balled up clothing will bounce and make the dryer vibrate.
    • 13 Level the dryer. Turn the leveling legs on the front of the dryer clockwise or counter-clockwise until the dryer is level. Turning the legs clockwise will lower the dryer. Turning the legs counter-clockwise will raise the dryer.

Clothes roll into a ball on matag dryer

THE DWADDER
One of the most time-consuming uses of a dryer is drying blankets and sheets. The reason it takes so long is the blanket or sheet can be twisted into a tightwad or ball during the drying cycle. Once this happens the dryer is incapable of drying the center of the wadded blanket or sheet. The solution today is to take the blanket or sheet out of the dryer halfway through the drying cycle and unwad the bundle of sheets or blankets.
Then place the blanket or sheet back into the dryer to restart the dryer cycle over and over again until the blanket or sheet is dried. If you forget to
unwad the blanket or sheet when you get ready to make the bed, the blanket and or the sheet will be wet. In order the fix this problem the Dwadder is strapped to the sheet or blanket using a silicone cord before it is placed into the dryer. Once the dryer is started the blanket or sheet will wrap around the device allowing a space to be in the center of the blanket or sheet. With the space that is created by the
Dwadder the center of your blanket and sheet will dry faster and will not roll into a tight ball or cylinder shape. This will help save time drying your sheets and blankets. The device will also prevent wadding of your sheets and blankets so you don't have to
unwad your blankets and sheets half way between the drying cycles.
The Dwadder will save you time and money. It can save up to 30 minutes off your drying time. This will save you energy. You will save time and worry less about your blanket or sheet not being completely dried when the drying process is finished. As an added feature the HDPE plastic ball opens to allow for a dryer safe fragrance to be placed inside the ball. This will reduce the use of dryer sheets.
We would love to have you as our customer. We know that the Dwadder will save you time, money and
lower the frustration of drying laundry.

My Dryer won't stop drying until I open the door.

If it does this in a Timed Dry setting the timer is bad. If it does this in an Auto dry setting it could be a bad moisture sensor or a bad timer.

Sheets wind together in a damp ball

I have a different model Bosch dryer, but I have the same problem.

I've found that the flat sheets dry okay if you have them in with other things (like pillowcases and t-shirts). I learned long ago though that you can't put those things in with deep fitted sheets; the little stuff winds up caught in the corners in damp wrinkly wads.

So I dry the fitted sheet separately, and throw in a couple of clean tennis balls. They're noisy, but harmless, and they keep the sheet from balling up.

LG DLG2532 Gas Dryer will only dry on manual setting

If you use dryer sheets, LG recommends no.  Dryer sheets cause a film that will not allow the sensors to feel the clothes moisture during the drying process thereby causing the computer to countdown the timer quickly.  To clean out the sensors, use a green pad and scrub the sensor bars inside the dryer drum.  That should remove the film left by the dryer sheets.
