Question about HP DeskJet 812c InkJet Printer

New color cartridge won't print in correct color

I just installed a new color print cartridge on my Deskjet 812c printer. The document needs to be blue and white but once I installed the cartridge, it only prints in pink and white! What is the problem? How can I correct this problem?

    same exact problem... I thought my old cartridge was just out of ink, but when I put in a new cartridge (factory, puchased at Costco) I was having the same problem.

Was this a new factory ink cartridge or a refilled one?
I have seen some reconditioned/refilled with the color inks refilled in the
wrong section.

I know it sounds crazy, but I found a forum where someone suggested soaking the cartridge in hot water. A million people responded that they had been having the same problem with their HP printers and tried this technique and it worked. I bought a new computer and i need to installed my printer but I lost my cd instalation of HP Deskjet 810 c. What can i do?


You can go to the HP website and download the drivers or many other places offer the link such as places that sell the ink for it provide a link to driver sites. HP only offers Windows 98 USB drivers, but XP and Vista both came with the driver so if you are using Windows 7 you will need one of these or substitute HP 812C.

I used the driver for the HP 812C for mine on Windows 7 home 64 bit - works fine. (The 812C also uses the same cartridges)

Printer is only printing pinks. Just changed ink


Try cleaning the print head. Do this under the tools for the 812c (do not physically clean). You may have to run the clean utility as much as 5 times.

Printer won't stop printing garbage


Try and re-install your printer drivers...first remove the drivers and delete the printer...then re-install.

My printer wont print in color & its a new color ink cartridge


have the printer preferences been changed accidentally to print in greyscale? Is the cartridge installed correctly? Now and again if the cartridges are opened and not installed straight away the ink dries up in the nossel and clogs the printer head, easily rectified with some cleaning solution. Cartridges also go out of date. hope this helped

Here write 4 step you do it step by step

1. remove safaty strip from the cartridge
2. clean carridge block contact with soft cloth
3. replace cartridge for short
4. replace carridge block

Colored text printing


The printer assumes that the color cartridge is good, and is trying to print with the dead color cartridge.
See if there is a setting for your printer under the control panel, printer, and go to printer properties.
See if you can select to print BLACK only.
I know they have this option for some Canon Printers, but not sure with the HP Printer Drivers.
Worst case senerio, Highlight all of the text, and change the color to BLACK before printing. You can always just pick up a cheap refilled cartridge at Staples since it wont be used a lot, the quality isnt going to make much difference.
