Realtech sound device is not windows logon test pass so laptop hangs on on playing some multimedia

I have purchase acer aspire 5100 on april 2007. the realtak sound device supported by product is not supported by window logon test of xp sp2 as per given massage when installing the software. after it hangs on playing some vidio espacially at high volume. suggest me possible solution

Goto device manger and find the sound card and do a driver update this could help if not right click on the speaker on the bottom /right of the laptop and open volume mixer make sure everthing is ok

Go to "Start," "Control Panel," then double-click on "Add/remove Programs."

Click on the "Windows Setup" tab, "Multimedia," then select "Details."

Choose "Sound Recorder" from that screen, then click "OK." The Sound Recorder application will begin to run.
Step 4 will begin the microphone test.

Click "Record," which is the circle located on the right side of the user interface.
If you hardware device is functional, you should see the recording display begin to move.

Press "Stop," "Rewind," then "Play" to verify the audio that has been recorded.
If you are able to hear what the microphone picked up, but are having trouble hearing the microphone's input within other software, refer to the software's manual about proper configuration of the device.

If you were unable to record with your Acer microphone in Sound Recorder, continue to Step 6. 6

Scroll your mouse over to the bottom-right corner of your computer screen and then double-click on the small speaker icon.

Slide the microphone volume slider all the way to the top and make sure that there hasn't been a mute check-box selected.

If you are still experiencing error while recording with your Acer laptop's built-in microphone, you most likely have faulty hardware that needs to be replaced by Acer directly.

Acer notebook usb not recognized

Sounds like a hardware issue. I would guess that there is a bad connection between the usb's and the motherboard. If you are comfortable dismanteling the laptop and re-soldering the usb's than give that a try, but I would recomend you give it to a pro.

Monitor Aspire 9500 doesn't work anymore

You need to replace the inverter board.
Here is a tutorial for the Aspire 5100 which should be a good guide as to how to replace the inverter board on your laptop.

No Sound from Acer 5100 : Volume tab is disabled

I am worried that there is a problem with the sound card on your motherboard. If it has worked in the past and then suddenly disappeared, usually it is because the computer can no longer locate your sound card. It will not load a driver for a device that no longer exists. Since you have already done most of the troubleshooting steps, it is time to think about replacing your motherboard. Good luck

Acer aspire 4315!

It sounds like you have not properly installed the audio driver. You have to go in device manager and see if you have any question mark in any of the devices or the audio. To go to device manager you hit start then control panel and then click device system and then click device manager.

Acer Aspire 5100-5840 USB Problems

Is your laptop still under warranty? I would go to the manufacturer first if it is.
If not:
the system clock is run by the CMOS battery. When low will cause a host of problems. Change it and let me know if this fixes your problem.
