I have replaced my hard drive with a SSD. The computer is working perfect except that it now refuses to play any of the audio files that it used to play.A message comes up saying the file format is no

It sounds like your sound drivers are not installed or corrupted. Does it play any sound at all? For example the windows startup sound. Look in device manager and see if your sound device is working properly. There maybe more than 1 device. If so then go to your sound properties (right click speaker icon on taskbar) and see if there is another device you can use to play sound and make that one your default choice. If this doesn't work then look for updated sound drivers for your particular device. Hope you get it working.

I have a sony bravia flat panel. Volume has to be set very high to hear sound. Error message appears (unsupported audio device)

Does the message come when the Bravia is used with an external device? If so what is he cconnection used.?If this message is coming with the TV input then it is possible that the sound processor section is faulty.
Feed a aux input to confirm. If so try to set the audio properties once again with the menu settings.

This device is working properly. If you are having problems with this device, click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter. But the sound is not coming out

Please install the latest version of the sound card from http://support.dell.com
if still the problem persist then its a problem with the sounds setting in control panal

go to controll panal and click on sound
click on the sound tab and test the sound. if unable to here turn off the laptop
turn back on by pressing the FN+Power button that will lead to a diagnostic mode
run the diagnostics and check if you get any error message
if error message comes call the tech support and give the error message they will be able to replace the part

To check, click windows start button, point to computer, click manage, then look for device manager. If you see an exclamation or "x" mark on your audio device this means that your audio driver is not properly installed.

If audio no error marked sign and says that your audio driver is ok, uninstall it then re-install the audio driver.

No sound on my desktop

Hi.
It appears you need to install the drivers for your sound device.

To know if you have a sound device installed:

Go to Start - Control Panel - DobleClick System icon - Hardware - Device Manager, look under Sound, video and game controllers

Is there a yellow icon ? Yes ?
you need a software called driver to activate that device.

Hope this help.
