2000 Jaguar S-Type Battery

Is there anything special about changing a battery in my vehicle, a 2000 Jaguar S Type? Assuming I buy correct battery, do I need radio codes, or anything special to do with the vehicle after I put new battery in car??

I had to change the battery in my 1999 S-Type, you will need the radio code, I also needed to reprogramme the board computer which is easy if you have your manual at hand, also the car might act strangely for a while, but this is explained in your users manual, nothing to worry about.

Hope this helps.

Hi

Are you sure it is the key causing the issue and not the car's battery? if the battery has gone dead on the car then the remote will not open it. is there any lights on the key to suggest it is working?

How do you remove battery from 1999 jaguar S Type

Battery next to spare wheel at back. No special tool or task needs. Don't forget to check, you have the radio code before do it.

2000 Jaguar S-type. Changed passenger side ignition coils and broken exhaust tube on manifold. Now vehicle studders when starting and immediatly turn off. Can you help with this issue.

As a temporary fix you could try to reatach the pipe together as that will be a breather pipe and the car will not idle correctly as there is now a large air leak

Other than that you will have to buy a new tube

Sir, I own a jaguar s-type 2000 4.0 runs very rough

Its not codes, what they mean is this. Your car learns how you drive, this information is stored in the Engine computers memory. If the battery is disconnected or is discharged, this memory is lost along with certain other operating parameters. One of the things lost is the "idle point" The cars computer should rewrite this information itself within about 50 miles of driving, if it does not, you may have to disconnect the battery again, leave it disconnected for about 5 minutes and then reconnect. Drive the vehicle to reload the lost information. Now, did you charge the battery whilst it was still connected to the vehicles electrical system..? If you did, you may have damaged the cars computer. This happens due to the higher voltage supplied by all battery chargers.. If disconnecting the battery does not seem to help, take the vehicle to a professional and have the cars computer checked properly.

Hello
Definitely the battery has a big role in Jaguar cars, as Jaguar cars are very sensitive when it comes to battery.
You never go less than specified , going a little higher is ok but not lower

I am thinking of buying a 2000 X type at a big dealer. They said it had an electrical problem with the battery but was fixed. I went to start it up and all the oil drained out of it. They said the oil plug...

here is one site that has reviews on that car.... i've started you on the page of recalls.... confirm first that all the issues in the recall list have been taken care of for that vehicle
