Re: My telephone dials the number but I cannot either...
You will have to do a master or "hard" reset which will reset your phone to factory state. This can be done via Tapping Start > Settings > System tab, then tap Clear Storage and input "1234". Conversely you can also hard reset your phone by holding both your softkeys (the physical keys that map to left and right menu options) and using your stylus to hit the reset button while holding those two softkeys. Warning: when "hard reset" executed ,it will delete all files and back to factory setting...You better save your important files.
Hope it may help you;

had same problem. 1) connect earphones and try a test call. If it sounds ok with h/phones then 2) record yourself / some music and see if it plays back ok. If it does then it's not the speaker or microphone. I found that this test miraculously cured the prob. If it doesn't then take it back to supplier.
what you do is go to menu and then hit the button that says messaging (the envalope) (sorry if im explaning this so simply i just dont know if you know how to work the phone) the go down to the one that says VOICEMAIL and hit that (well not hit it just you know, poke it or select it :) it should then dial your voicemail. It then should say ....TO CHANGE YOUR PERSONAL OPTIONS PRESS 4 (then open keypad and press 4) then it should say... FOR GREETINGS OR RECORDED NAMES PRESS 3 (onen kepad press 3) then it should have different options such as just one with your 1. name (bob is not available leave a message after the tone) or 2. your number (123-456-7890 is not available please leave a message after the tone) or 3. a personal greeting where you can record whatever you want (hi i am not hear blah blah blah leave a message blah blah blah)
I think maybe the dial button is messed up (Under the key). You know how sometimes when something stuck in certain key of ur pc keyboard, it will keep typing that letter?! You might just need clean under the dial button.
Your speaker could be going out. When making a call press the $ button to activate the speaker. See if that function works.
Adjust the volume with the volume control on the right side of the as needed.
I have the same problem with my Verizon treo 755p. It will dial but I can't hear anything from the other end. I can receive calls but when I answer, I can't hear the person on the other end. I guess I need to visit Verizon to have them look at it or give me another phone.
I can connect my Axim X5 to the Internet using my mobile phone via infrared without a problem. You need to create a new dial-up connection using "Generic Infrared" modem in the setup. The number to be dialled is a function of your mobile phone. On my Nokia 6230i the "number" is *99# for creating a GPRS connection. Your mobile phone has to be correctly set up for Internet access and obviously you have to have a data plan.
