Question about PC Laptops

Driver downloading Hi Dear, Thank for your advice regarding my brothers laptop, whoes wireless network driver failed. As both wireless and ethernet failed, I tried to download the driver to another computer, and copy it to the affected one using flash drive. However, after copying, when I tried to open or just click the file, it gave a message that says the file already existed, and asked me if I wanted to overwrite it. I could not pass that stage. I also tried overwriting but did not work.

My laptop has been switched off for a week. when i turned it back on, it cant find any wireless networks or my wireless router. i can only get online by manually plugging the yellow lead from pc to router....

- It seemed that there is no wireless network driver that is installed on the computer

- I also noticed that you can connect to the internet using a wired connection

- you can download the wireless driver using the computer manufacturer's support website (e.g support.hp.com if it is a hp laptop , support.dell.com if it is a dell laptop)

- if laptop is customer built you can go to start -> run -> msinfo32

- Under system summary-> components -> network you can find an idea what kind of wireless network driver you have

- and you can google and download the wireless network driver

I have a Gateway T-series (Model:W350A) laptop. I just reinstalled Windows Vista and now the computer is not recognizing the built in wireless card. How do I get it to recognize it? Or how do I install the...

Plug in an ethernet cable into your ethernet card port on the left hand side of your laptop. When it connects to the internet click on the Windows update icon in the system tray. It should show you a Realtek Wireless RTL8187b wireless adapter driver update. Install it, you may need to reboot, but in any case you will have wireless networks available to you and you can pull out the ethernet cable. Good luck.

Laptop network controller not working

hi,
Please install microsoft UAA driver first.
the download the driver from http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R149798&SystemID=INS_PNT_1501&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=2966&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=2&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=5&fileid=19898

Make sure that the chipset driver should be loaded there before running the setup of ethernet.
