It might be a possible CCD defect , as usually the symptoms are odd colours in a photo hence your red tinge in your photos.Its quite expensive as it labour intensive to fix .Rather just buy another camera or you can try to solder another ccd from anotehr camera > look on ebay for parts (not recommended precise alignment needed).

I have the same problem, but when I remove the MS Pro Duo card (1GB) from the camera it works fine again. The memory card works fine in a pc memory card reader. Is there a problem with the Sony camera built-in card reader?
master reset doesnt correct ur problem ur CCD is going BAD it
happens first starts with blurring and out of focus pics and low light
pics , then pics turn green or pink or red and then completely black pls contact service centre bcoz it has
the same BAD CCD batch installed in ur camera which is giving trouble
to thousands of ppl world wide and companys have issued service
advisories Fuji, Canon , Sony, Casio , Kodak everyone
they will cover it free of charge CCD replacement even if ur warranty
is out , pls contact ur service centre and ask them abt BAD CCD and
insist free of cost repairs bcoz it is manufacturing fault even if u
are not in list of service advisory they will do it Pls rate me FIXYA

the cause of the problem can be CCD imager. So, the best solution is to claim for Sony recall. If there is some other problem ask for the price estimate. Please contact the nearest Authorized Sony Service.
