When i go to print, it will flash "recieving data" for like a second, then it will disapear, and go directly into trying to fax something. Sometimes, it wont attempt to print it at all, and it repeatly tries to fax.

One method, press the SCAN button (LCD will show Save to PC) then insert USB flash drive into the Direct Print Port. Use the left and right arrow button to select USB flash drive, then press OK button. Second method, is press the FAX button then press the Menu button. Insert the USB flash drive into the Direct Print Port.
If you can access the USB drive using either method then you know the printer recognized the drive successfully.
1 Take out the cartridges from the unit . 2 Make sure the unit is connected to the wall jack directly without any surge protector. 3 Unplug the power cord from the back of the unit ( without turning off the unit ) . 4 Now press the # and 6 key together , while holding these keys down plug in the power cord back into the unit . 5 Do not release the keys after a few seconds u will find te hp logo or bars moving across the screen .wait while the unit turns off. 6 after one minute turn on the prnter . it will go into alligment phase > let it finish . 7 after its done > try to make a copy .
Note - you can also try the Ok n cancel key combination in place of # and 6 .
When you say all other printing processes are ok, I am assuming you can make copies and print from the computer. If so...then are the blank faxes coming from several different fax machines or are they coming from one particular fax machine. If one particular fax machine, then the problem is probably on their end. I need to go backwards a second....when you receive a fax does the machine spit out a blank page or no paper is fed at all..it just receives the fax? Is the machine programmed to just receive faxes to memory to be printed out later? It doesn't make sense for it to print or copy but not to print a fax. If problem persist try a different fax modem.
The error 1200 refers to a problem with one or both of your cartridges, and as the printer uses these cartridges to print, it will not be able to print any recieved faxes. To avoid lost data, it blocks all fax usage as a result of recieving this message.
