EXEL 2007 I HAVE CREATED A FILE IN MS EXEL 2007, BUT THIS FILE IS NOT OPEN IN EXEL 2003 VERSION & ERROR SHOWS THAT XLs FILE COULD NOT OPEN IN 2003

Without seeing the file, it is difficult to diagnose what is going on, but I will offer some ideas.

What version of Excel are you using? Are you using Excel 2003? Was the file you are trying to open created in Excel 2007 or Excel 2010. If so, it might be using the new format and therefore will not open in Excel 2003 and older.

It is possible the Excel file is data that was imported from a source in which Excel cannot import. Does the Excel spreadsheet contain any imported data?

Those are the most likely causes of the corrupt data. Is every file you open in Excel corrupt, or just this one workbook? If it is just this one workbook, then, yes, it sounds like it is corrupted. If every file you open with Excel is corrupt, then your version of Excel could be corrupt, but that is unlikely.

try to uninstall the MS Ofice by clicking start > control panel > Add or Remove programs then remove the Office. Restart pc and install the Office using your CD. Hope that your XLS sheet will come true...

If your company was using MS Office 2003 then you're using MS Office 2007. Make sure you're saving the file in a compatible format. For example, if you've create a report on excel file using MS Excel 2007 then you should save the file in .xls (compatible format) instead of .xlsx (2007 format. In that case you can open your file on both versions. Also when you're saving other office files make sure it's in compatible format.

You don't have to convert the .docX or .xlsX to view in MS Office 2003, just install the "Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint File Formats" and you should be able to open files, created or saved as the MS Office 2007 format.

If you need to edit the files you can too, but you will saved it in the MS Office 2003 formats.

I assume you are trying to convert a file into Office 2003. When you open a file in 2007, simply use the Save As... menu selection. When the window comes up click the drop down menu and choose Office 2003 file. It will then give your file the standard .doc, .ppt, .xls, etc. extension.

you need to open the file on the same version then save it again but on the version that you need, cause an older version could not open a newer, on the newest you have the option to save files at any version that you need

MS Office 2003 does not have a free download; but you can go to Open Office, the download is free and you can save your files as <.doc, .xls, etc.> so others can open them with MS Office

This is because 2007 excel uses a different type of file. You may follow the directions at the link below on how to save files in 2007 excel so that you can open it in 2003
