WD 57733 picture color problem

I have a mitsubishi WD 57733 tv that was manufactured in july 2007. Last night it stopped recieving the HDMI signal from the satellite reciever and when I switch over to DVD input (component input) the picture looks saturated on all of the highlights (sort of like switching your computer back to only showing 256 colors). I tried another DVD player (component input) and it does the same thing. I tried adjusting and resetting all of the display/color options and nothing clears this up. After reading some posts here about other sets and retrieving fault codes, I pushed input + menu and recieve 009.01 in the upper right of the menu. The brightness seems fine. Any ideas anyone?

    Thank you for the reply. I have tried the unplugg power reset of both the TV and the sat receiver and nothing has changed. I also have another dish receiver (hdmi out) and the TV still does not receive a signal through the hdmi input. Picture is still the same too.

    Good Day;

    WHAT "ID" did I mention in my post, weak signal or somthing?????? Please explain, I think you read wrong "FIX", this what i inputted;

    Sorry you are having a problem with the TV, but this a very common problem this model. Please try this: CHECK C2P05 100 UFD 16 V OFF PIN 3 OF IC2P01 AND IC2P01 PART # 270P466020 (9-VOLT REGULATOR). BOTH ARE ON THE SIGNAL PCB.
    Good Luck, big IRISH. PS UOK?

My WD 57733 will attempt to power up (almost like a whistling sound as it attempt to power up) then will power back down.

When was the last time you replaced the lamp? That sort of sounds like the ballast is unhappy with a bad lamp. The 57733 is a good TV. The other possibility is a stuck/dirty color wheel.

Check the lamp and see if it looks worn out(dark or grey in the tube down the center). Also make sure its either a Philips brand or Osram brand.

Let me know and Ill see what I can recommend next

How to connect my desktop computer to my mitsubishi hdtv?

If it has a PC input, no problem, just use a VGA cable. If not, don't waste your money on adapters to convert from PC to HDMI or Component. Picture is lousy and poorly focused. If your TV has a DVI input, That will work. frequency will match up. Hope this helps

Green horizontal lines on screen no picture

The green CRT's (color picutre tube or color wheel, or ballast) will need to be tested for replacement.
It is quite common with these tv's

You will need an ohmmeter and or voltmeter and test each component for currency and accuracy
