Question about Zephyr Typhoon AK2100 Kitchen Hood

Neither lights nor fans work

While attempting to change a burned out light, the unit shorted and now nothing works, neither lights or fans. I cannot see any fuse box or breakers that are burned out or tripped. Everything else in the kitchen works. I opened the hood but nothing appears amiss inside. What do you recommend?

Don't know model but they are all much the same.
there will be a pcb behind the control buttons and you will find some of the track burnt out causedd by the bulb blowing. do a soldered wire link across the burnt section of the track

David, I have exactly the same problem. My unit is a Zephyr Napoli zna-m90s. I tried to find where the fuse is but no success. I saw three light colored plastic containers next to blower. One for electric connection, one for control circuit and the third one with a big metal cylinder which i am not sure what it is used for. But no fuse. I checked that power is coming to control circuit. Did I miss anything?

Had the same problem with a Zephyr Napoli. My fix: there was a blown miniature glass fuse on the control board inside the control box next to the fans. You need to do some disassembly to get to it but it's easy enough to replace. The bigger problem: The blown fuse is the result of a short circuit in the leads going to the G4 bulbs. They burn hot and destroy the insulation on the leads going to the ceramic socket. A penny saved by using cheap cabling. You will need to insert some heat resistant insulation between the leads and the metal bulb brackets or else it will repeat - or cause a fire inside the unit.

I cannot see any fuse box or breakers that are burned out or tripped. Everything else in the kitchen works. I opened the hood but nothing appears amiss inside. But the buttons do not even light up...What do you recommend?

Tracey recheck that the breaker is reset properly, you may have blown the digital display/control board. In which case a tech. will have to diagnose and repair.

My furnace will not fire up, the fan runs and I get the 4 blinking light error code for high limit switch open, but I tested the limit and it test closed. I jumpered the wires going to it and no change. ...

Their can be as many as 5 limits or rollout switches on and around the unit. One in the smokestack one on each side of the burner one under the burners etc

Look for air flow restrictions and correct that after resetting limits.

Hello- Glass bulbs don't make very good handles, do they? Find a good tech to check wiring behind bulb socket. May have burned a connection, and or grounded a wire somewhere. Electric ranges have two 110v circuits that work in combination. One is out. Let me know if info helps- have more if needed- Thanks- ED

We have a New World built-in fan oven. It had been off for 20mins when there was a bang/pop noise and all our power went out. Turned it back on at the fusebox but the bottom oven doesn't work at all. No...

something shorted out at the bottom- crossed wires, liquid, mice, etc. check for electrical burning smell. if there is a panel under the oven door, remove it and look for large scorch marks on any wires or circuitry. you might have to take the oven out and look behind it.

Stove Top won't heat

clock works because its only 110 volts.all else is 220.as a repair man the firstplace i would check is the cord.[power off]why there first the installers dont know how important it is for those cord screws to be very tight.consequintly the leave them looseish, and thats where they burn.if thats ok.make sure you have 220 there at the cord.God bless you,tom

Tappan TEF242BW oven stopped working

Have you tried the broil setting yet?
This will tell you if the upper element comes on.
If so, you may have a burned bottom element.

First of all- when you turn any ONE of the burner knobs to "ignite" all FOUR burners will spark/click. This is normal. If you're getting a spark from the ignitors when all knobs are set to "off" then you most likely either got some moisture into one or more of the switches below the knobs (sometimes they will dry out and be fine after a while, but I have seen them burn-up/melt/arc too) OR one or more of the switches is stuck/shorted. Good luck and hope this helps.
Unplug the range before working on it and don't attempt anything you're unfamiliar or uncomfortable with.
