the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

This product does not claim to work on Windows 98. If this machine is running XP, or earlier (98, 2000, ME, etc.), beware. It is no longer supported, and hackers will be looking for these machines to infect. I recommend you back up your data (pictures, documents, etc.) and get a newer machine, or don't try to get on the Internet with this one. If the machine won't boot or let you back it up, and you have important files on it, you could purchase a USB Hard Drive Adaptor, pull out the hard drive, and copy any important files to another machine. That way, at least you may not lose your files. Good luck.

Need windows 98 driver for xerox phaser 3140 or a compatible driver on windows 98 (can't upgrade to windows XP because of low hardware pc resources)

There are no Windows 98 drivers for this device. In the future, you should check to see if there is a driver for your operating system before you purchase a product.

Error code 16 on yahoo mail

Windows could not identify all the resources this device uses. (Code 16)

To specify additional resources for this device, click the Resources tab and fill in the missing settings. Check your hardware documentation to find out what settings to use. Solution button: None

This code means that the device was not fully detected. When a device is not fully detected, all of its resources may not be recorded.

To resolve this error code, click the Resources tab in Device Manager to manually enter the settings.

Screen dies while booting up

You are not using enough ram for XP or 2000 in my opinion. I would up the RAM to at least 1 Gig and then try the install again. XP uses more resources than 98.

Thanks for using FixYa, I hope this helps.

Networking probs.

Your running a windows 98 server? Do you not mean Windows NT server?
Windows 98 was not made to server as a server, there is no inherit file security permissions in place; just simple file/folder sharing.

If you need a simple file server, I would upgrade your 98 machine to windows 2000 or NT4.

Windows XP Professional works as a much more effective simple file server with much better security features.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Problem with my video card and sound card

No, that card is not compatible with Windows 98 or Windows 98 SE (Second Edition). It is only compatible with Windows 2000/XP/XPx64/MCE.

Compatibility meaning there are no drivers available for Windows 98/98SE.
