I can not get the video or photos from card onto laptop via card reader. i can only download photos via usb cable but cannot get videos downloaded either way.i have vista on my pc and i dont have the cd...

Try this: create a folder on your desktop and label it videos. Then, using the card reader, open the files on your screen and drag and drop the videos into the folder. You need a player on your computer to play the videos so you may have to experiment trying to open them with various programs. You could also download a free copy of Quicktime from apple.com It will play many different forms of videos.

How do i transfer video files onto my windows xp

If you have a CD/DVD on which the camera's setup files are located, put it in your PC and run SETUP. When it tells you to connect the Camera to the computer via USB cable, do it.

If you don't have the CD/DVD, then go to their web site and download the necessary software, and do the same thing. Again, when instructed to do so, connect the camera.

Once that connection is made, you will find that copying the photos from your camera to your computer is actually quite easy.

Good luck.

Video to a cd

it really depends on the camera you have and what kind of video cd you want. the easiest way is to offload the video file onto a computer and burn it onto a cd that way. however this is just a data file and does not allow you play it in a dvd player, only a computer. otherwise there are many different types of software, adobe encore, windows dvd maker, idvd (on mac). that will allow you to author a dvd. there are also pieces of hardware (quite a bit more costly) that can take a file from a camcorder and create a dvd/cd from it. hope this helps.

Which wires and programs do u need to have to put my vidoes onto the computer my video camera is CCD-TRV128 NTSC

This is analog video camera and can not be connected directly with computer.

Computer requires video files in digital format to store / write it on HDD or write a CD / DVD.

Best option is hook camera with DVD Recorder and burn DVD, now you have video of camera in digital format and can upload / transfer in computer for desired task.

Convert a Hi8 to cd

Hi 8 tapes are analogue and need to be converted to digital before a DVD can be made of them. You can pass the signal through a digital video camera to the computer to convert them. Only very short videos could be copied onto a CD as most video files are much larger than a CD's capacity.
I'm not sure about digital 8 but maybe the camera only has an analogue output? If the lead goes to RCA plugs - that is analogue. A firewire socket means a digital output.
