Very difficult operation to describe. See if you can get an owners manual. See links on this site. Or if there is a repair shop nearby. Take the machine there, buy a correction tape (call First) and watch how they install it.

I have a problem getting a signal to the monitor. So I took the side panel off and I see this large ribbon wire thats hooked up to the motherboard on one end and nothing on the other. It's labeled FDD. So...

Yes. It's a flat ribbon cable with 34 wires in it. Goes to a Floppy Disk Drive.
Shouldn't be connected to the motherboard without a Floppy Drive attached, but in reality will do no harm.

What is the computer manufacturers name and Model Number? Back of the computer next to the Windows product key, or up on the side of the tower.
Tell me about the problem of getting a signal to the monitor.

Monitor shows No Signal?
Good. This indicates the monitor is okay.

Have you tried to replace the monitor cable, IF it detaches?
Have you tried a KNOWN to be working monitor, AND it's monitor cable?
Same symptom?

Computer is bad. No Video Signal is being produced by the computer.

Three things to check before you concern yourself with the graphics on the motherboard.
Suggest when you perform number 1 below, that you also perform number 2.

1) Clean out the inside of the computer with a can of compressed air for computers.
pay special attention to the Processor Fan, and Heatsink sitting on the Processor.
(Or front computer case fan, and Heatsink sitting on the Processor)

[Computer on a table, computer unplugged from power, computer case open.
Observe Anti-Static Precautions ]

2) Ram Memory:
Computer on a table, computer unplugged from power, computer case open.
Observe Anti-Static Precautions, remove all Ram Memory module/s. ('Stick/s')

Clean the gold plated contact pins on the bottom of the Ram Memory module/s, with a pencil eraser.
Rub the eraser up and down on EACH contact pin.
If you are not using a solid eraser, and one on the end of a pencil, refrain from letting the metal band touch the contact pins.

Use air to remove the eraser dust.
You can use a can of compressed air for computers if available, or air pressure from your mouth will be sufficient.
Reinstall the Ram Memory module/s.
Plug the computer into power.

3) Bad Power Supply. Weak voltage power rail.
One of the leading causes of computer failure.

Sometimes brought on by the fact the computer is dirty inside, (As well as inside the Power Supply's case), and sometimes brought on by the fact the computer manufacturer used a low quality Power Supply.

Enough power to light LED lights, and maybe spin fans, but Not enough power to turn the Processor on.

A) ALL of the LED lights on at once use less than 1 Watt of power.

B) EACH fan uses 2 to 3 Watts of power

C) A typical Processor can use 51 to 125 Watts of power. Depends on what Processor it is.

I am using an AMD anthlon 64 X2 processor 3800 + and my computer doesnt turn on and makes continously high pitched beeping sound .This just happened yesterday and I dont know why , plz help .Thank you

try to check out your video card and try to clean it or your memory card.

these are the steps to clean and remove corrosion on your cards:

1. open your cpu and remove your video card and memory card our the slots.
2. get an eraser and gently use your eraser to brush the pins to take off corrosion.
3. after doing this, gently put your card to their corresponding slots and press it so that
the contact point of the pin and slot will hold so that your board will read your cards.
4. close the cpu and start your pc.

Maytag dishwasher flashes 9 after cycle

Hi,The problem seems to be a poor connection between the ribbon cable from the keypad and the processor board. Turn off the power, remove the back of the door, unscrew and remove the lid on the processor box, push to open the lock on the connector and remove the ribbon cable, clean the end of the cable by light rubbing with a non-abrasive pencil eraser, put the cable back in the connector and lock. Reassemble. The problem is fixed for you.

F7 code keeps coming up on the digipad screen. timer goes on and off by itself. even when unplugged and then plugged back in, still happens.

The F7 code is due to a stuck button on the touch panel or a bad control module. You will need to unplug the range and remove the back panel. The first thing you will need to check is that the ribbon connector that goes from the touch panel to the control module is seated correctly. If it is found seated correctly then you will need to remove the ribbon connector and try cleaning the contacts with an eraser then re-install the connector and power the range back up. If the error code comes back then you will need to determine if the touch pad or control module is defective. You can do this by disconnecting the ribbon cable and power the range back on. Then wait 24 hours and see if the error comes back. If it does then it is the control module(ERC) and if it does not then the touchpad is the problem. Doing this work will require you to remove the back panel of the range. Make sure that you do not work on the range when it is plugged into the electrical outlet. You can be injured or worse if you attempt to make repairs on the range and you do not know what you are doing.

I am getting an error suddenly as stop :0x0000008E(0xC0000005,0x896F18E8,0xA84A875C,0x00000000)

First turn off your pc, open the right panel of your mobo and locate the memory and clean it with an eraser, a pencil eraser. then turn on your pc.

if the problem goes again, reset your processor and clean your processor socket with a paint brush and your processor with an eraser, a pencil eraser, be sure to touch gently the processor. then turn on your pc, and see if it backs to normal again.

if the problem persist, just reformat your hardisk and make a backup of your important files.

Note: if you don't know how to do one of these tips, just have your pc repair by a professional computer technician.

Good luck!
