Based on my experience consulting with a certain large mobile phone carrier (like, say, AT&T or Verizon), I can say that...

  • the most common reason for mobile phones to break is getting wet
  • many, many different parts of the phone can be broken when the phone gets wet
  • problems caused by water don't always appear instantly.  They often appear signficantly after the initial spill.
I think what this means for your situation is:  I wouldn't count on there being any chance of fixing your phone.  Even if someone does something and it appears to be fixed, it's quite likely the phone will have more problems down the road.  You need to exchange the phone, either by convincing Apple to give you a new one (which I gather is impossible) or buying a new one.

    When was this iPhone bought?

  • elliot_whyte Sep 25, 2008

Are you from the US or Canada?

  • elliot_whyte Sep 26, 2008

Umm, What I can suggest is sending it to apple. The harddrive must not be reading the firmware that you are uploading to it.

  • elliot_whyte Sep 26, 2008

Well you can send it to me and I can check it out for you. I do charge a fee and you'd have to send with insurance

  • elliot_whyte Sep 26, 2008

As soon as I receive the iPod it will take me 12-24 Hrs. To do diagnostic tests on it. What you will have to cover is the shipment here and shipment back. Please e-mail me at elliot@therealsound.net and I can give you more information on where abouts I live.

I put in wrong code and now it says disabled connect to iTunes but I set the phone up with wifi so how do I get in my iPhone?

Your iPhone is currently on disabled mode after entering wrong combination of password. There are several ways to gain back the access to your iPhone:

First Method: iTunes
1. Using your computer, open iTunes where you have recently backed up your iPhone.
2. Connect your iPhone. Once your iPhone is detected, a notification will appear to enter your passcode. Note: If the lockscreen doesn't show, proceed to next method.

Second Method: Update

1. While your iPhone connected to iTunes, powered on. Hold down the Power key + Home button simultaneously until the screen off, keep on pressing the Home button then release the Power key until iTunes detected that your iPhone is on Recovery Mode. Note: An iTunes logo will appear on the iPhone when Recovery mode is enabled.
2. On iTunes, click on Update iPhone. It may take a while to download the software, so leave it for a while connected until the installation complete.
3. Once updated, try unlocking your iPhone. Note: If you still can't unlock your iPhone proceed to next method.

Third Method: Restore (last option)
1. If method 1 and 2 fails to unlock your iPhone. Then try to restore your iPhone into its factory default and restore your backup after.
2. Go to recovery mode. See method 2 step 1 process to enable recovery mode.
3. Then choose Restore iPhone. Note: Restoring your iPhone will delete and remove all of your data including apps, music, photos, messages, contacts, notes, etc.
4. It may take a while to download and install the software, so leave your device connected until the process complete.
5. After your iPhone has been restored, choose restore from a backup or iCloud, then wait until your iPhone successfully synced your old data.
6. Try unlocking your iPhone.

How to recover iPhone messages?

If you are sure that the lost messages are in the iTunes backup and you don't mind losing the data generated after the backup, just restore the iPhone with iTunes.
If the iTunes backup is not the latest, and you don't want to lose current data on your iPhone, try to extract the messages from the backup using the iTunes backup extractor. Of course, if you have an iCloud backup, you can also use iCloud backup to restore the iPhone, or extract the messages from the iCloud backup with an iCloud backup extractor.
If cannot find the lost messages in the iTunes backup, you can still recover deleted messages from iPhone by scanning the device directly with the help of an iPhone data recovery software.

How do I prevent Tenorshare iphone data recovery from crashing every time I try to connect my iPhone?

Hello, firend. iPhone Data Recovery for iPhone 4S is leww likely to crash and DFU mode is not needed. And the bug-fixed version is better than the previous. If it crashes really badly, you can apply for an exchange from Tenorshare.

My iphone is not turning on. It is jail broken the problem is whenever the iphone goes off i have to jailbreak it each time. Now also i have dome the samething but its not working. Its not turning on.

Try to reboot the iPod, just in case it has crashed
  1. Hold the top button and the home button for about ten seconds.
  2. A bug can stop the screen from displaying, sometimes you can reverse the problem by doing the reboot. If you still see nothing on the screen, try to plug the iPhone in to the computer and try the reboot method again.
If you are still unsuccessful in turning on the iPod, but the iPod shows up in iTunes, try restoring from iTunes to fix any bugs causing the issue
  1. Plug the iPod in to your PC, go into iTunes and click the iPod's icon on the left side of the screen.
  2. In the iPod Summary Screen, click on the restore button and agree to the prompt asking if you really want to restore the iPhone's software.
If you are still unsuccessful in turning on the iPod, but the iPod doesn't show up in iTunes, try putting the iPod into recovery mode
  1. You can put the iPod into recovery mode if it has a charged battery.
  2. Start by holding down the home button before connecting it to iTunes, then continue to hold the button until iTunes recognizes that the iPod's in recovery mode.
  3. Recovery mode allows you to perform a restore when you're when an iPod fails to turn on or display anything on the screen.

Iphone 2g wont sync

Please look here:

Reset and Restore iPhone to Original Default Factory Settings with Recovery Mode iPhone display freezing? iPhone doesn’t detect by or appear in iTunes? iPhone cannot sync with iTunes on PC or Mac? Cannot make or receive calls, send or receive text messages, or access email or the web? Or worse, iPhone simply won’t turn on and does not respond to tap or button press? If the problem still persists after you have reseted the iPhone, or tried various iPhone troubleshooting, it may be worthwhile to invoke recovery mode to restore iPhone to default factory settings, the original state as when you first received and unwrapped the phone.

Restoration of iPhone to original factory defaults will likely to fix all problem, with the downside that all data and information stored on your phone will be lost. Normally iTunes will make a backup automatically when you connect and sync the iPhone with the program, however, it’s still a good recommendation to copy out and backup everything that you may need on the phone before proceed to restore the iPhone.
To restore iPhone and reset the phone to default factory settings, follow these steps:
  1. Turn off iPhone - Hold down the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the red slider. Ignore this step if your iPhone is already off.
  2. Press and hold down the Home button for about 10 seconds until a yellow triangle with a text which says Please Connect to iTunes appears. iphone-recovery-mode.jpg
  3. Plug the iPhone into Mac or Windows PC. Release the button if you haven’t.
  4. Run and open iTunes if it’s not already opened yet.
  5. iTunes will prompt a message that says iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. Click OK.
  6. You will be taken to the iPhone pane. Then, click on Restore.
  7. Wait for the full restoration process to complete, and the iPhone will be back to the original settings state as when it left the manufacturing factory, typically a working phone again if you face any problem, unless it’s hardware related
