How do I change the light globe on an Elna 683 overlocker please?

Hello Sue.
Unscrew the bulb cover ... On the left side there is a screw holding the cover, unscrew it. Remove the cover and and glove will be readily available to entertain changing. If the manual is not readily available to show this maneuver, here is the service manual showing the same on page 4: ELNA 683 686 Service Manual Bulb Cover
Please give me a 'thumbs up' if this was helpful, otherwise please provide more information to solve this procedure.

Although overlocker is correctly threaded it does not form a chain

here's a link for a manual
http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/instruction-book-elna-t33.aspx
try changing the needles & see if that helps the machine to form
a proper stitch, if it doens't then it's possible that the machine
could be out of time & needs to be checked at a sewing machine

Elna 683 overlocker spare parts

I can see a needle plate
http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/needle-plate-janome-788601007.aspx

from sewingpartsonline.com, but it is marked as being for Elna 664. They don't have your model listed on their website.

You could email them and ask if its compatible with your model or just look at the part and see if it looks the same to you?

Other option is to contact Elna head Office in your country and ask them for price and availability; often this is best course of action as any sewing machine dealer will probably need to order in the part anyway.
Visit www.elna.com, then go to your country, then "Contact Us" page to find their contact details.

Hope this helps you get the overlocker going again.
